ABSTRACT

Imelda. 2021. Improving Science Learning Outcomes for Living Life Cycle Materials using a
combination of Picture and Picture, Two Stay Two Stray and Mind Mapping models for
Grade 4 Students at SDN Karang Dukuh Barito Kuala. Thesis for S1 Elementary
School Teacher Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education,
Lambung Mangkurat University Banjarmasin. Supervisor Drs. H. Ramadi, M.Pd
Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Science, Two Stay Two Stray and Mind Mapping.

The problem in this study is the low learning outcomes of students in science content
material for the Life Cycle of Living Things. This happens because science learning is
scientific, science learning is not connected with real life and becomes meaningless for
students, students have misconceptions about understanding the types of life cycles of living
things, and students' lack of ability to work with friends whose academic abilities are not.
different. Efforts are being made to apply a combination of Picture and Picture, Two Stay
Two Stray and Mind Mapping learning models. The purpose of this study was to describe
teacher and student activities, as well as analyze student learning outcomes. This research
approach uses qualitative descriptive, while the type is Classroom Action Research. This
research was conducted at SDN Karang Dukuh Barito Kuala for 4th grade students with a
total of 11 students for the 2020/2021 academic year. The object of this research is learning
the life cycle of living things by using a combination of Picture and Picture, Two Stay Two
Stray and Mind Mapping learning models.
The analytical technique used is the analysis of qualitative data and quantitative data.
Qualitative data were obtained from observations of teacher and student activities, and
student learning motivation, while quantitative data were obtained through measurement
techniques with students' written tests. The data analysis technique uses percentages and
scoring.
The results showed that the application of a combination of learning Picture and
Picture, Two Stay Two Stray and Mind Mapping, teacher activities at meeting 1 obtained a
score of 22 with the predicate "Active" and achieved a maximum score of 30 with the
predicate "very Active" at meeting 4. While student activities at the 1st meeting classically
36.3% and increased to 90.9% at the 4th meeting. Then the accumulation of student learning
outcomes at the 1st meeting reached 36.3%; then increased to 90.9% at meeting 4.
The conclusion of this study is that the teacher's activities are carried out very well,
student activities in learning are very active and learning outcomes have achieved
completeness both individually and classically. It is recommended for teachers to use a
combination of Picture and Picture, Two Stay Two Stray and Mind Mapping models as an
alternative in choosing a learning model.
