7
The Design Element Are:
1. LINE - shape or outline, creates
a thin or thick texture, lines may
be actual, implied, vertical,
horizontal, diagonal or contour

8
The Design Element Are:

2. SHAPE- A geometric area

that stands out from the
space next to or around it.

9
The Design Element Are:
3. VALUE - the degree of light and
darkness in the design. The
contrast and tones between black
and white

10
The Design Element Are:
4. TEXTURE - the way a surface
feels or is perceived to feel. Visual
texture is the illusion of the surface
resulting to roughness or
smoothness in objects.

and thickness. An illusion of
3-dimensional object
that creates angles.

PRINCIPLES ARE:

13

❏ of margins, font, style and color

2. CENTER OF INTEREST
❏ The area that first attracts attention
in composition

3. BALANCE
❏ Visual equality in shape, form, color
or value.
14
4. HARMONY
❏ Brings together a composition
with similar units.

5. CONTRAST
❏ Shows the difference between
shapes that can bring object back or
forward

6. DIRECTIONAL MOVEMENT
❏ Motion in design as you move from
one object to another.
15
7. RHYTHM
❏ A movement in which some
elements recur regularly.

8. PERSPECTIVE
❏ An arrangement of object in
2-dimensional space to make it
