the SQL database within the EPM model.

Multiple User Access Allows for many users to work on the online database using

the Microsoft project servers

Customized fields Provides formulas for customized fields and allows for added

value to the software.

Columns Provides about 500 default fields for activities besides

resources.

simultaneously.

Activity steps Enable users to break down complex tasks into smaller

sections while maintaining simplicity within the Gantt chart.

Expenses Allows for planned remainder besides actual project costs to

be included at a task level.

Customized fields No customized fields

Columns It comes with pre-installed 200 columns, with each column

having different data. Column categories are EVM,

Budgeting, expenses Etc.

Multiple task relationships Allows for same activities to have multiple relationships

WBS Allows for separate creation of WBS with specific codes

Reports Users are allowed to create Sheet-like reports using

customized default forms. Reports are viewed in a tabular

form but with no graphical charts.

Assigning work relationships Allows for the creation of relationships using Gantt charts or

predecessor/successor tabs.

Comparison

After analyzing the two project software companies, the P6 has more features that enable

a company to perform more functions using the software (Gharaibeh, 2014). The software allows

the company to use multiple users and allows for large project structures that are most suitable in

most large organizations. MS-project is best-suited for small organizations which often have

single projects at a time (Ragavi, & UMA, 2016). this is because the project does not need heavy

recordings and cooperation with other projects, making the MS-project the most suitable project

management software.
