Preparation 1. Rote counting from 0 to 70
5 minutes Show a number card from 0 to 70.. Tell what number it represents .
How many sets of ten straws did we have yesterday? ( 7 sets of ten straws each)
Show seven sets of ten straws each.
(Ask)How many straws do you have in all?(There are 40 straws in all.)

2. Checking of the assignment. Who among you connected the dots from 0 to 100?
Bring out the materials. Today, we will continue counting, reading and writing
numbers
from 71 to 100.

Presentation 1. Present to them the same procedure used in the previous lesson in (DLP #3)
20 minutes
2. Repeat the procedure until numbers 80.
(Ask) How many straws are there in all? (There are 80 straws in all.)
How many loose straws are there? (There are 10 loose straws.)
So what can we do with the loose straws? (We can form another set of 10 straws.)
How many sets of 10 straws each do we have now? (We have now 8 sets of 10
straws each.)
(Say) When we have 8 sets of 10 straws each , there are 80 straws in all.
Emphasize the name “feighty”for the number 80. Write 80 below 70. Ask the pupils
to read it. Then ask them to read the numbers from 71 to 80 written on the board.
Repeat the procedure until 89 then introduce 90 in similar way.
Emphasize the name “ninety” for the number 90. Write 90 below 80.
Repeat the procedure until 99 then introduce 100 in similar way.
Emphasize the name “one hundred” for the number 100.
Write 100 below 90. Ask the pupils to read it.
Then ask them to read the numbers from from 91 to 100 written on the board.
