● Describe in your words what Phase 1 consists of: Understanding the

business

The first thing we have to understand is that we must identify the business in order to later
be able to evaluate its current situation, define what its objectives are in order to develop a
plan.
Once this is defined, all the data must be collected and a description, quality exploration and
verification must be made, then the data must be prepared by making a selection of these,
cleaning construction and integration.
Follow the data modeling that tries to design the model and evaluate it in the evaluation, you
have to review the process to be able to know what comes next and finally the management
plans, monitoring and review the final results
1. Who is the customer?
I'm a girl who likes to exercise always tries to eat the best and when is not
possible i don't feel guilty about it , i go to a nutritionist so i can loose a little bit
of weight and always try my best to follow it but for me actually is more than a
diet is to follow a life style and continue it everyday so i always try at least to
workout 5 days a week. I always focus on training with weight that challenges
me everyday. I exercise my legs 3 times a week and my upper body 2 times a
week. Also, whenever I have time, cardio is also important because it helps
me with my weight training. I'm 20 years old. My current weight is 63 kg. I
have kept this weight for 3 months already but my goal is to weigh 60 and my
height is 1.69m. I am still in business exploration but the career i have in mind
is marketing.

2. What problems are you trying to solve?


I consume around 1300 calories a day because that is what my nutritionist
recommended, but I don't always follow the diet, so sometimes I can eat more
calories, so I consider that if I stick to the nutritional plan, I will obtain better
results over a long period of time.also on the other hand if I increase my
protein consumption I think I could achieve an increase in muscle mass and
as a consequence I could consume more calories as long as I do not exceed
the limit of 1300 calories that I have in order to lose fat but at the same time,
as I had mentioned before, increase my muscle mass. This is how I hope to
have a change in my weight

3. What solution or solutions will Data Science try to provide?

It provides me with information on how many calories I have consumed day


by day for a month, based on that it will help me to be able to predict in the
future what could happen to my weight if my weight is going to decrease by
making a caloric deficit or if I am going to maintain myself since I would be
consuming the same calories that my body needs or if I am going to gain
weight because I would be eating more calories than my body needs day by
day. If I did not keep this data table it would be impossible for me to predict
how my weight may change in the future, this is how this material will help me
predict my future changes over time

4. What do you need to learn to be able to develop the solution or solutions?


I need to develop knowledge about the subject of data science in the same
way, always keeping my daily calorie intake in a timely manner, noting what I
consume in a day.
Learning much more about the statistics of what I have consumed in the last
month to later be able to make a future prediction of whether I am actually
going to lose weight or stay at my weight or in the worst case gain weight.
Learn all the concepts seen in class, study them and practice them in the
tasks that we have to deliver each week

5. What will you need to do to develop your solution?

For me to be able to achieve my goal, which as mentioned before, my goal is


to be able to lose weight by having a caloric deficit, what I need is to consume
fewer calories than my body needs, I will have to constantly calculate the
calories I consume, write them down in my excel worksheet and with the help
of the tools predict the possible calories that that food contains in addition to
adding the calories so that they never go unnoticed
I was also able to make better decisions about what foods I should eat or
what foods have fewer calories due to a greater amount of product and on the
other hand, I was able to avoid foods that, for less amount of product, provide
me with many more calories than I should be consuming daily.
