Sponsorship Proposal – A Lecture by Dr. Sayed Amjad Hussain

Kanishka Vihara (Shahji ki Dheri), An Ancient Peepal Tree and A Sacred Begging Bowl

Dr. Sayed Amjad Hussain is an emeritus professor of cardio-thoracic surgery and emeritus professor of humanities at
the University of Toledo, Ohio, USA. Since 1976 he has visited Pakistan to teach and to deliver lectures on the
subjects of surgery, ethics, history, religion and culture. He has always projected Peshawar positively on the world
map.

This time he is visiting Peshawar in the mid of January and Creative Co. (Private) Limited and Sehrai Tourism Services
have specially requested him to deliver a lecture on an ancient site of Peshawar the once famed “Shahji ki Dheri”
which unfortunately has slipped out of our collective consciousness over the years. The subject of the lecture is
“Kanishka Vihara, an ancient Peepal Tree and a sacred Begging Bowl”.

You are therefore requested to contribute your part in efforts to revive the past grandeur of our beloved
Peshawar and sponsor the activity which will include refreshments and miscellaneous cost and hosting at
Peshawar Museum with allied facilities.
