Job Specific Accountabilities:
• Provides the Operation and Maintenance departments with
Engineering advice and support on all critical instrument
equipment and associated systems equipment and associated
systems.
• Carries out investigations and ensures effective equipment and
associated system integration system to the maintenance and
manufacturing activities in the various plants.
• Supervises and Participates in various critical instrument
equipment and associated systems equipment and associated
system equipment projects, reviewing all technical documents
and liaising with the concerned department as required.
• Frequent contacts up to the level of section head in Operation
and Maintenance when supporting activities, providing advice and
participating in Control System and critical instrument equipment
activities.
• Provides critical instrument equipment and associated systems
engineering support to all concerned departments including daily
support to the operation department in resolving critical
instrument equipment and associated systems to related plant
problems.
• Assists Major/Minor changes, studies & investigation with other
engineers in the department in conducting plant studies (PSR) on
plant performance, problems from a critical instrument equipment
and associated systems perspective etc. Provides techno-
economic data and cost estimates.
• Prepares engineering/design studies for critical instrument
equipment and associated systems plant and associated systems
confers with operation department and the other concern
departments, works with Drafting and Documentation Section
during the preparation of correction of the documents.
Coordinates design review and safety review meetings to ensure
compliance with work scope, safety/environment.
• Participates in the final check-out of new installations (MOC).
Ensures the correct implementation of plant modification as per
the design in accordance with national and international
standards as per safety procedures of the company. Provides
clarification to management and provides guidance and technical
support to operation for successful and safe implementation of
plant modifications.
• Verifies and approves the modifications prior to hand-over to the
production to ensure compliance with the approved design.
Checks verifies and approves documentations to reflect the "as
built" condition as required, updates the drawings/documents
along with Draftsman / CAD Operators, checks for their approval
for distribution.
• Studies and analyses new technical developments in his
discipline area to propose improvements and enhancements for
the existing facility. Acts as instrument engineer for assigned
expansion projects and ensures its correct implementations,
participates in pre-commissioning and start up to ensure proper
compliance.
• Prepares of CAPEX ITB. Scope of work as instrument engineer
consulting with other department staff, to ensure all our project
requirements are included ahead of floating RFQ through
purchasing department.
• Reviews technical offers as per prepared ITB and sends
clarification and approvals to purchase dept.
• Creates SAP code for asset items, related special materials
through material management department coordinating with
owner department.
• As focal point instrument engineer– distribute, review, clarify and
approvals of corrected documents ahead of expansion project.
• Participates in the final check-out includes factory and site
acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional
specifications. Arrange and witness necessary Instrument testing
during Project execution with owner department.
• Participates in MOC/CAPEX risk assessments, HAZOP, SIL
validation, SIL verification and health and safety programs as
directed by the Engineering Team Leader
• Verifies and approves new modifications (MOC & CAPEX) prior
to hand-over to the production to ensure compliance with the
approved design package.
• Supports Major/Minor changes (MOC/CAPEX), external project
feed studies & investigation with other engineers in the
department problems from a critical instrument equipment and
associated systems perspective etc. Provides techno-economic
data and cost estimates.
• Assists Finance Department in verifying invoices and payments
for the services rendered to the company as well as assists in
providing engineering information to outside agencies,
committees and companies as requested by Engineering
Services.
• Prepares spare parts requirements for new installation devices
through CAPEX, MOC, especially prior to major overhauls which
are planned.
• Provides leadership and development to the instrument
maintenance group. Decide on strategies for long term reliability
of Instruments/control systems and process optimization
