Snooker:

With a weaker line up this year owing to the unavailability of past year’s players, the snooker team
played extra hard but fell short of target to finish the season in the group stage. As our star player
Melissa was absent in the morning, we tried to play tactically by pitching our strengths against our
opponent’s weakness. Unfortunately, we minimized our losses but didn’t flip the tables to clinch a
victory, and subsequently bowed out in the loser’s pool. Nonetheless, things look promising next year,
although Melissa will have graduated, as we do have some continuity from freshmen players who have
shown potential this year.

Contract Bridge:

Unfortunately, the Contract Bridge team this year was unable to repeat the quarter-finals placing of the
past two years, finishing at the bottom of their group. The other three halls in our group included two
quarter-finalists (6 and 10) as well as last year’s champions (9). With one experienced player and seven
fresh newbie players, we could only hope for the best, which wasn’t very good. Nonetheless, we’ve
managed to field several freshmen this year. They are well poised to form a more experienced team
next year and put up a better fight. All the best next year!
