in Our Lives

Reading and writing are highly beneficial to us. They not only practice
our literary knowledge but also improves exponentially our overall
perspective and self-quality.
Since elementary, I'm still learning and coping with the progress. My
vocabulary is presumingly limited and I possess a moderate to poor
reading comprehension. Difficulties are commonly encountered
regarding my knowledge deficiency. It is clearly inappropriate that I
suffer procrastination and thus finds myself can’t completely absorb
improvements with as much efficiency as my fellow classmates. But
furthermore, I came into realization that the best way to do to improve
my vocabulary and comprehension is to read and practice every single
day.
It is true that “The more we read, the more we
learn.” I've noticed that reading and practicing
truly helps; I can see an improvement, and I
gain a lot of knowledge just by reading books.
And it is absolutely possible as long as one has
the fascination and determination to learn and
develop. Since we can only doubtlessly trust
our true improvement to ourselves, we have
to push harder towards development.

As of today, it is still apparently true that the definition of
reading and writing lies far beyond the idea of just for studying
and finishing obliged paperwork.
Our current generation almost generally prioritize a substantial
and an easy everyday living, becoming more dependent. An
average student nowadays might choose to research in the
internet than find the answers from the contents of books. We
seek improvement and comfort in a modern perspective, and
thus relies to the advancing technology and tends to expand
the sources of convenient services. But yet after all, our
competence or having literary knowledge and enthusiasm, is
what fuels a development to a wide range of our aspects. Reading and writing builds the
depths of ourselves as we reflect those profound intuitions. They helps create complex
imaginations and deep understandings, from making judgments, writing or reading nostalgic
books, and even creating wonderful ideas and inventions that mostly serves as foundations
even until now.
As we openly recognize the cognitive and the literary role of reading and writing, we
understand the significance of defining them like a natural vessel of imagination and wonder,
which took a great part in constructing the history we know and the world we live in today.
Children, teenagers and adults are more exposed to gadgets. Particularly, most of the teens
are constantly on social media platforms which actually leads to laziness. In school almost
everyone is using gadgets rather than books when researching. They're wasting to spend
their time browsing on social media rather than to read and write.
I've noticed that some of the students have lack of ability to read and write, that causes low
comprehension. The factors are they'll have a difficulty understanding to what they have read.
Moreover, lack of ability to listen to speakers and difficult for them to understand and to cope
up to someone who is talking.
You see, reading is the only key to learn it is highly beneficial. It improves our knowledge,
vocabulary even our writing skills. And having a knowledge about something are actually
improves everyone's lives. If you're knowledgeable enough it easier for you to understand
everything. And you can achieve that by reading.

 Cultivating the Important
Skills in Our Lives

Reading and writing are two parts of a greater skill called
Communication. Indeed, that literacy is the ability to “read,
write, spell, listen, and speak.” These skills are important for
school, at work, and home. Reading and Writing will always be
part of our everyday life. It is very important and it has a lot
of benefits which you can get through life. Apart from
talking, writing is the second most used form of
communication. Writing is about expressing your ideas and
communication. Writing is about expressing your ideas and views in words on paper
or notebook. Whereas, reading is about speaking or pronouncing the words written
in a book or a paper.
When I was a little kid then, reading and writing help grow my vocabulary and my
understanding of the world. The closeness of snuggling up with a favorite book
leads to an increase in self-confidence and imagination and helps me gain a wealth
of knowledge from the books. Reading exposes me to many new words that I must
sound out and learn the meaning of, which increases my ability to express thoughts
more effectively. Having a greater base of vocabulary words makes me feel more
confident not only in my reading skills but also in writing and speaking. Reading
exposes us to other styles, voices, forms, and other genres of writing. Importantly, it
exposes us to writing that’s better than our own and helps us to improve. Writing
improves my reading fluency. When I must stop and think about what spelling
patterns to use when I write, I am making a deeper connection in my brain about
sound and spelling patterns. This deeper connection makes it easier, and faster, for
me to recall those same patterns when I read. The more I think about and practice
the code in written form, the better I will be at understanding the same code in
writing. Writing also improves my reading comprehension as I get better at
formatting my writing. Not only that, but reading is a critical foundation for
developing logic and problem-solving skills. Increasing your ability to communicate
also helps make you a better worker or student. It is important because it develops
our thoughts, gives us endless knowledge and lessons while keeping our minds
active. Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope. Once you learn to read, you will be
forever free

The Key to Success

There will always be much to learn about reading and writing since
it is so comprehensive. Honestly, through my experience I have
already seen improvements in my reading instruction. Overall, I
have had more successes than failures and anytime I do fail I feel it ends up being a
success because it is an opportunity for me to grow. The greatest success thus far is
the wealth of knowledge I have gained and have been able to implement.
It is not a secret that reading is the key to success; we have been told and taught this
from a very early age. Remember all those books reports you had to do for free pizza in
elementary school? And now in the age of the internet — reading, writing, and
communication skills are more valuable than any other skills you possess. What is the
key to great communication and writing skills? You guessed it, reading. Reading is a key
to a brighter future. Reading can hone the knowledge and interests of children. Through
reading, children can enter worlds that they have not entered before. They can discover
new things, new places, and new people just by reading anywhere they are. It has been
proven that children who read better, perform better in school, and have a more active
imagination, leading to a larger world and more possibilities for success. I have been
reading well for a long time; my mother taught me to read before I went to preschool
and I can say that having that knowledge early made my school days a breeze. Even in
classes that were not my strong suit, being able to at least read the material well and
understand it to the best of my ability often saved me. (Of course, this goes back to
reading comprehension, which goes hand and hand with reading well. And children who
were taught early tend to read better.) But, you probably don’t want to read about one
person’s story, because everyone is different.
The habit of reading goes parallelly with the attainment of knowledge. Reading plays a
vital role to enrich a person’s vocabulary than just listening can provide. Reading leads
to many answers that have arisen in our minds. It leads to many questions too, making
us all the more inquisitive to know new things. Reading leads to vocabulary enrichment.
The vocabulary enrichment helps in subject enrichment and confidence.
We never know that how and when the new bit of information
can come in handy to us. Better the knowledge, better is the
way to tackle new challenges, tactfully. The analytical skills
come in handy when it comes to critiquing the plot, thinking
further about the story and its characters. We start thinking
about the story and also discuss it. With all these, I would like
to conclude, rather persuade, to read, read and read.

Today’s era is losing interest, because of increase of
technology, social media and electronic items which has
taken over the era of reading and writing. If we talk
about reading, this helps in understanding information
and increasing your intelligence. It is also very important
to read what you like rather than reading just for the
sake of reading. It helps in keeping yourself updated
with latest information, facts and keep up with the new
trends. If you are finding problem with reading try
selecting articles or books of your interest. Books can
hold and keep all kinds of information, stories,
thoughts and feelings unlike anything else in this world. People who value books are more
motivated to read on their own and will likely continue to hold that value for the rest of
their lives. When it comes to writing, it helps in improving your skills and knowledge. This
can help in self-analysis which is really important to work in the real world. Once you
develop an interest in writing you will love writing and expressing your thoughts.

Reading and writing is fundamental to function in today’s society. There are many adults
who cannot read well enough to understand the instructions on a medicine bottle. That is
a scary thought – especially for their children. Filling out applications becomes impossible
without help. Reading road or warning signs is difficult. Even following a map becomes a
chore.

Writing is very important to be able to express yourself well. Our writings precede us, or
introduce us. For example, when we apply for a job or to enroll in a school, we need to
submit a resume and sometimes a cover letter, or when sending e-mails to someone we
don’t actually know well or haven’t met yet (work partners, customers, or even
responding on behalf of the company you work for). In terms of fulfillment and personal
satisfaction, the more I write, the more I see the story in everything. The senseless
scribbling and the unabashed writing simply reflect one’s emotional state. It is an
expression one chooses to escape the sporadic whirlpools of anger, hatred and
happiness inside. I can bleed through my words and still no one would realize. I’d just
chalk it off as a vivid dream or an existential commentary. I love writing because it’s mine.
It will perpetually be my thoughts, my speculations and my emotions scribbled across
those pages. The more you read and write, the more you broaden your vocabulary and are
able to articulate concepts accurately and more effectively to others. And last, I would
like to conclude by saying, Reading is privilege. The ability to write, disentangling yourself
and occasionally pull on someone’s heartstrings is a bigger privilege.

Reading is one of the most important skills a person can acquire. It is a process of getting
meaning from the printed page and interpreting symbols drawn from the image, idea, passion,
or experience of the author. Through reading, a person can get information concerning
problems or issues that affect human life. Reading is the primary key to all knowledge. It
offers effective access to information, ideals, aspirations, and happenings of both past and
the present. It is reading that brings us closer to our surroundings, that changes our outlook.
Reading mistakes on the part of students is obviously one source of school disappointment.
Students who are unable to read often drop out of school, robbing them of the opportunity to
fully experience human life. A student who is not given the opportunity to read cannot
function in a proper way. Reading is considered a basic subject in the school curricula. It is a
tool for learning in the other areas of the school curriculum. A student’s success in all
academic subjects is in a way related to effective reading. Oral language, reading, and writing
are both important and dynamically parallel in children's development, meaning they build on
one another. Reading necessitates the use of words. As a result, the development of oral
language and reading may have certain parallels, as language learning is a prerequisite for
learning to read. Writing necessitates the incorporation of reading skills with writing skills.
Genuine Love for Reading helps to trigger the learners' schemata and train them for the text's
actual reading. Here, the instructor determines the students' proper mindset. The study's
findings reveal that the participants were unfocused and unmotivated to enjoy reading.
Emergent learners' critical and creative thinking abilities must be completely established.
That is to say, the participants, as emergent learners, were not yet skilled in becoming very
curious about many items around them, both familiar and unfamiliar, despite their youth. They
lacked the ability to hypothesize, explore, and feed their curiosity, as well as the expected skill
of being imaginative in seeking answers to their questions. In most traditional teaching,
learners do not a manifest improvement in Genuine Love for Reading. Varied strategies,
techniques, and instructional materials are essential to effective learning, especially in
Genuine Love for Reading which are the skills needed in language development and literacy.
Genuine Love for Reading refers to the growth of a genuine passion for reading, which is an
excellent way to improve vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills. As a result, both
teachers and parents must work together to help their children become literate.
Children are very inquisitive and creative in finding answers to their queries. They inquired
about the how's and why's and were not usually satisfied with the simple affirmative or
negative response. When children express themselves, they actually demonstrate critical and
creative thinking. Adults surrounding young learners must be able to identify their quest for
information. Unfortunately, sometimes, parents and other family members have become
impatient or neglectful of the repetitive and endless inquiries of their kids.

Writing equips us with communication and thinking skills. Writing
expresses who we are as people. Writing makes our thinking and
learning visible and permanent. Writing fosters our ability to explain
and refine our ideas to others and ourselves. Over hundreds of years,
writing has helped individuals to inform, collaborate and alert others,
while societies benefitted from written history, culture and
knowledge. In our time, how you successfully use the gift of writing,
depends on you.
Writing is a life skill, not only an essential job-related skill, because it is often the basis upon
which others judge your learning, your values, your ideas and your contribution to society.
Regardless of your career or occupation, everyone has to write to communicate with
others, whether it is a friendly email, a formal business memo, a report, a job application, a
press release or a message of condolence. Your writing skills determine if you receive the
desired reaction from your reader. Did you inform, persuade, calm or entertain as you
hoped? The effectiveness of your communication can affect your daily life and your life
course outcomes. So, miscommunication can have serious consequences and unintended
effects. Writing is personal. It represents us when we are absent in space and in time.
Writing expresses who we are, even after our life time. It makes our knowledge, our
personal aspirations and our work for the future visible to others. Writing is the means to
explain our ideas to ourselves and to others while preserving our personal experiences and
our memories. No one else can do it for you. In this way, writing connects you with yourself.
Writing is not fleeting; it is permanent. It is a record of what you wished to communicate at
a point in time. Writing enables you to reach a much larger audience, in many places and
over time. Keep this in mind, if you want an on-line presence. If writing was judiciously
planned, thoughtfully written and designed for the intended readers, it lives on in the minds
of those who read it. If you are reading this and it made sense to you, it means that the
writer directed the message to you.
As a student, you must have heard it several times that writing is an important life skill to
learn, which is why it is deliberately taught in all our schools today. However, you may still
find it a bit difficult to believe this, and I understand. You do not really know why it is so
important! Those essays you write are not really a sort of punishment that your teachers
hand out to unnecessarily frustrate you. One essential skill every student must master to be
able to succeed not only in their academics but in life as a whole. Because, to be honest,
without communication, the real essence of life would be lost, which is why writing has been
deeply integrated into the school curricular as a way to significantly improve the
communication skills of students. Writing provides students with the avenue to learn all the
rules of their language and how they can better organize their ideas more coherently using
the language. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation, gestures, paralinguistics, and so on, which
are major parts of communication, can also be improved upon when we learn how to use
writing as means of expressing our ideas and messages clearly and directly to our listeners.

now. There's an old story that our ancestor hides our treasures to
protect them from the colonizer. We always think that if we get
them, we will be a millionaire without thinking that treasures will
never last. The true treasures will we found in the books. Yes, we
can't use it as an exchange to products that we want to buy, but
this treasure will change our life that will possibly give us a true
treasure that stays forever and that is the knowledge we gain
from reading it.
Reading books and other text will teach us so many things but it
always depends on what we are reading. Giving yourself a
chance to read a book will give you a power that you can use on
the future. Once you start loving reading it will be your treasure
that you'll carry until your last breath. Just try reading and I'm
sure that it will bring you in another world where you can forget
the chaos of our true world. Reading is amusing it can change
your perception on your life and it will bring you a light because it

In the world full of stress, sadness, anxiety, unsaid thoughts and depression
there's a thing we can do to escape or lessen what we feel. It's not a
popular opinion but writing is one of the effective relievers that we can do.
We can express what we can't say to others on writing. No judgment, no
discrimination and no sugar-coating word, just our true feelings. I can say
that writing is wonderful because we won't having a book to read and song
to sing if no one write it, having passion on writing is one of the best talents
that we will love for sure.

 Developing a Love of Reading
in Students

¬Exposing new readers to a variety of genres can help them find the books
they love. Plus, reading comprehension strategies to deepen their
engagement.
Every elementary school teacher is a reading teacher and is essential in helping each child
on his or her reading journey. When we provide the resources to meet the literacy needs
of our students beginning as early as prekindergarten, students and teachers will feel
both confident and competent in teaching and learning to read. While helping students
learn to read, it is also important to create a love of reading. Students who read voluntarily
report less negativity about reading than those who are required to read.
CREATE MOTIVATION
Motivation is the key to promoting a love of literacy in children. One
of the best resources I have found for creating motivation is a shelf
filled with books that match students’ interest levels and reading
levels. They should be surrounded by titles that reflect the lives of
themselves as well as their classmates. When students find titles
with characters that look like them and families that resemble their
own or their neighbors, their interest level increases student
comprehension. Students should be provided with books that represent all genres so that they
can determine what they most enjoy reading. Unless a child is given the opportunity to read
poetry, mysteries, historical fiction, biographies, autobiographies, and science fiction, he or she
may not know all of the types of stories that are created for readers of all ages. Student book
choice is the first step in getting children hooked on reading. When students have ownership of
their reading, successful, independent readers begin to bloom. Teachers can be the best book
matchmakers for their students. While teachers are building relationships with their students at
the beginning of the year, they can also conduct one-on-one interviews or give interest surveys
to each child. This practice will help teachers learn the strengths, challenges, likes, and dislikes
of their students. This information helps teachers select the best book to spark a child’s interest
in reading. Peers can be a great resource for helping students find what books they will love to
read. Encourage classmates to be book matchmakers by creating personalized book
recommendations for their peers. It's easy to create a recommendation template that can be
stacked in the class book nook. When students find a book, they think would match the
interests and hobbies of classmates, they can fill out the personalized book recommendation
form and give it to their classmate. Literacy diagnostic tools such as running records or
anecdotal notes can also be used to understand the instructional and independent reading
levels of students. During one-on-one or small group reading instruction, teachers can note the
reading behaviors they observe, including any errors made during reading, students’ responses
to comprehension questions, or details about their expression, tone, or reading rate.

READ TOGETHER Through daily guided reading, teachers can
introduce students to high-interest instructional text across
genres. Daily individualized reading practice gives students
the opportunity to read books of choice on their independent
reading level and grow as readers. Introduce children to
multiple genres of books during small group reading
instruction. When children find a book of interest, they can
turn the book into their choice book for independent reading
time. Background knowledge about a topic or subject matter
can help students engage in the reading.
For example, if a child has never been to a farm, he or she may not
understand how the setting of the barn is crucial to the plot of a
story that takes place on a farm. If a student has no prior knowledge
about the roaring twenties, he or she will not fully comprehend an
article about the Great Depression. Making stories and articles
relevant to everyday life and current events is one more way to
increase background knowledge. In order to build background
knowledge before reading, teachers should consider taking students
on virtual or live field trips or giving them access to real objects.
Assume that students have no understanding of the vocabulary
words or content of the text. Allow them to make predictions, make
connections, and ask questions before every reading experience to
gauge their knowledge. These three comprehension strategies
inform a teacher of the students’ proficiency about a particular topic.
Encourage readers to use the title and pictures to make a prediction
about what the book is about before reading it. During reading,
students confirm their prediction and make a connection. Ask
questions such as, “What does this text remind you of?” or “What is
going to happen next?” to build comprehension. Give students daily
experiences in instructional guided reading, independent reading,
and choice. Exposure them to culturally relevant and diverse genres
and guide them with comprehension strategies to enhance a love of
reading.
