ASSIGNMENT 3

1. Research for a sample of a hotel or restaurant banquet agreement. Examine the

provisions in the agreement and analyze whether such provisions are fair and
justifiable. Can you suggest ways to improve the banquet agreement? (Attach copy
of the agreement when you submit the assignment)

According to my analysis, the agreement is fair and guaranteed, with the

advanced reservations based on a restaurant's investigation of each client's
application to ascertain whether or not the client is reliable and able to pay for the
service they will provide or if the organizer is able to meet and adhere to contract
terms.

2. Research for a sample of an employment contract in the tourism, travel and

hospitality industry. Answer the following questions:

a. Is the compensation package clearly stipulated?

The majority of individuals consider the compensation package offered by the
particular business they will work for. They don't have a clearly defined salary plan in
the job contract that I looked at and analyzed.

b. How would you characterize the wording of the employment contract?

Although there are two parties engaged, the employment contract's phrasing
still lacks important requirements, such as a clear indication of the compensation
package's total value.

c. Are the grounds for termination explicitly mentioned? (Attach copy of the
agreement when you submit the assignment)
There are various reasons for terminating an employee, and according to the
contract, these were not included.

3. The Case of the Disastrous Conference In 2000, a major Philippine university

hosted a three-day international conference on environment and urban renewal with
the Manila Hotel as official venue. It was hoping to attract 500 to 700 participants.
The university has paid the 50% required down payment for the banquet meals. The
hotel earmarked 6 complimentary guestrooms for the conference organizers. A total
of 50+ foreign delegates and 350+ Filipino delegates were pre-registered.

 Should the organizer be required to pay the full amount of the first day
banquet meals?
They have already paid 50% of the total amount, and the organizers
should provide another 50% to cover the whole cost of the first day's banquet
meals.

 What concessions can the event organizer request from the hotel?
The organizer must cover the full cost of the banquet meals that were
prepared on the first day,

 Can the hotel legally charge the organizers the full amount?
The contract made in advanced and signed, whatever things indicated on
the agreement the organizers must fallow it and hotel can legally charge the
organizers for the full amount, the venue and the food are already set for the 3
days event conference.

 What are the obligations of an event organizer?

It is the responsibility of the event organizer to execute prior planning for a
specific event, develop and negotiate contracts, and manage finances.

 What are the obligations of a venue host?

Event hosts are in charge of overseeing the attendance.

 What could be a possible consequence if the organizer refuses to pay

for the excess banquet meals and insists only on actual consumption?
If the organizers refuse to pay for the extra banquet meals that are not
consumed, there will be a conflict between the hotel and the organizers.
