This type of method makes the learners to use

their critical thinking skills. They are free to judge,
CASE STUDY METHOD make guess, resolve problems, and justify what
they have come up. This will help the learners to
put what they have learned into practice.
This type of method gives the learners a particular
ROLE – PLAYING METHOD role to play to improve their interpersonal
relationship towards other people.
Buzz session is different from reporting session
since buzz only takes a short amount of time. The
BUZZ SESSION learners are being grouped and they have a
particular topic to construct an idea and give
feedback about it.
Learners have equal amount of time to discuss,
DEBATE FORUM argue, and oppose about a certain topic. They
present proofs to defend their arguments. Debate
forum lets the learners to explore different point
of views in the world.
In this type of method, there is a so-called
‘panelists’ who are considered as experts in a
PANEL FORUM certain topic. They give ideas regarding the topic
and help the learners to clarify issues as well as the
information. Different perspectives are being
discussed.
A certain issue is being discussed by the experts in
SYMPOSIUM/SEMINAR/WORKSHOP this type of method. Learners are being gathered
here to discuss about the issue as well as the ways
to resolve it.
The instructor discusses the topic directly what he
DEDUCTIVE METHOD is going to teach. This makes the learners passive
for it does not let the learners think about the
topic beforehand. It only takes a short amount of
time.
INDUCTIVE METHOD The instructor makes the learners think about the
topic he is going to discuss. They let the learners
explore and discover by observation though it
takes a long amount of time but it improves their
thinking skills.
Differentiate inductive from deductive type of learning.
- The disparity between inductive and deductive learning is, inductive trains the mind
of every learner to think, to explore, and to discover about their topic. It lets them
to have the knowledge beforehand. Deductive, on the other hand, is a quick
process wherein the instructor does not let the learners to discover the topic.
Instructor teaches them directly which makes the mind of the learners passive.
What are the factors to consider in using these different types of learning methods?
- Factors that may consider are:
o The level of learning of each student
o Time-consuming
o Learner's interest
o Grade level
o Nature of the materials
o The objectives on how the students must engage with the topic
