Lesther Brillo AB- THEOLOGY
Nerchu Neal D. Monsanto

According to Christian thought, what is God's relation to the world? How does this concept
differ from monism, dualism, polytheism, pantheism, and deism?
ANS. In religion, dualism means the belief in two supreme opposed powers or gods, or sets of divine or
demonic beings, that caused the world to exist. It may conveniently be contrasted with monism, which
sees the world as consisting of one principle such as mind (spirit) or matter; with monotheism; or with
various pluralisms and polytheisms, which see a multiplicity of principles or powers at work

What do the following divine attributes mean and what question(s) does each raise:
omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience?
ANS: Omnipotence means all-powerful. Monotheistic theologians regard God as having supreme power.
This means God can do what he wants. It means he is not subject to physical limitations like man is.
Being omnipotent, God has power over wind, water, gravity, physics, etc. God's power is infinite, or
limitless. Omniscience means all-knowing. God is all all-knowing in the sense that he is aware of the
past, present, and future. Omnipresence means all-present. This term means that God is capable of
being everywhere at the same time. It means his divine presence encompasses the whole of the
universe.

What do these divine activities involve: providence, prophecy, and miracle?

ANS: Every miracle comes from a divine, spiritual, supernatural, holy, or numinous power that can take
the form of a person.

What is the evidence for and against the idea that God somehow changes?
ANS: Human Holiness as Divine Evidence: The Hagiological Argument for the Existence of God between
the science. Our beliefs about the reality of God directly affect our views of ourselves and why we’re
here. Whatever we ultimately decide to believe, we can’t help but look for assurances that we got it
right. And yet, the existence versus nonexistence of God can often seem like a perpetual debate, always
waiting to happen all over again.

What is the essential meaning of the doctrine of the Trinity and how did this doctrine
develop?
ANS: The doctrine of the Trinity is contentious; while many Christians acknowledge their lack of
understanding, many more believe they do. Many Christians actually behave as though they believe in
three gods at different times, even though they'd be appalled to learn this.
