SUPPLEMENTAL FEEDING PROGRAM

Situational analysis:

Malnutrition in one of the major health problem that need to be addressed in order to have a healthy
generation of young people. As per RA No. 11037 “ Masustansyang Pagkain para sa batang Pilipino Act of
2018 “mandates of Social welfare and Development & DepEd to implement the Supplemental Feeding
Program school- Based Feeding program respectively to address undernutrition among Filipino children.

Through the Supplemental Feeding program it is expected that the malnourished condition of the
targeted children will be eliminated. The SFP is the provision of food in addition to the regular meal to
currently enrolled day care children as part of the DSWD’s contribution to the ECCD program of the
government.

GOAL ; To improve and sustain the nutritional status of the targeted children.

OBJECTIVES ;

1. To contribute to the decrease of the number of malnourished children in the city.

2. To ensure that children have access to appropriate menu feeding schedule.

3. To conduct treatment pf parasitism/ deworming.

4. To provide Vitamin supplements to the targeted children.

5. To organize parents committee and conduct Parents Effectiveness Service (PES) training.

6. To conduct regular monitoring of nutritional status thru reweighing of height and weight.

STRATEGIES ;

1. SOCIAL PREPARATION- Coordination with Lucena City Nutrition Council, City health Office,

City Agriculturist Office and other agencies.

2. Procurement in accordance with RA 9184 or with partnership with supermarkets and local

Merchandise stores with maintaining credit line for the feeding program purchases.

3. Conduct PES / parenting sessions to parents/ caregivers/ guardians.

4. Conduct re-weighing measurement every month and end of feeding program.

5. Submit nutritional status report to the field office.

TARGET :

ALL ENROLLED Day care Children.
