PREDICTING
PREVIEW TO PREDICT
Previewing is an activity that you do before reading a book or a document to get a
glimpse of what the book is about. You do this by looking at the cover, the title, the
author, and the synopsis at the back cover (if any)
After previewing, you’ll be able to guess the approximate content of the book (what
it is about).
So previewing comes before predicting.
To preview and predict enable you to speed read because you don’t start reading
empty-headed. By having more or less some idea of what to expect from the book,
you’ll be able to absorb new information faster.
WHAT DO YOU PREVIEW?
