This year in order to support our families who are still endeavouring to adjust to the difficult situation
caused by the ongoing pandemic the school will not be increasing school fees:

The Matriculation Fee is non-refundable unless BSL is unable to offer your child a place.

Fees are payable by direct debit in accordance with the timetable below. B.S.L. reserves the right not
L to admit children whose fees are not fully paid and a surcharge of 10% will be added to those fees that
are not paid by the stipulated dates. To avoid unnecessary bank charges, please inform Administration

O IGCSE, A Level & other (optional) Cambridge exam fees are payable in February. Pupils who sit
F these exams will be billed accordingly. There is no fee for end of Key Stage tests.

I Younger siblings will always be given priority to join The British School, however this does not automatically

S parents enrol younger brothers/sisters with the school as early as possible to avoid any problems with the
H waiting list for entry into Foundation 1.
The following discounts are applicable for brothers and sisters:-

S 2 children at school = 2nd child and any subsequent children receive a 10% discount each

O Gate closes / Pupil Registration: 8:50 am (Year 7 to 13) 8:55am (Foundation 1 to Year 6)
F Classes Start: 9.00 am
School Finishes: 3.10 pm (F1 and F2 pupils finish at 3:00 pm)

L Lateness & Absence


A Pupils must arrive at school for registration before the gate closes. Those who arrive late should
N be brought to Administration and be signed in by a parent. Likewise, parents who pick their children up
after 3:30pm must sign the late register.

Children must attend school on all days on which the school is open. Therefore, parents are reminded
A that children may not have time off for holidays except for those established by the Spanish Ministry of
R Education.
If your child is absent from school a letter must be given to the form teacher on the child's return.
O Authorized absences are for medical reasons only. Every term we are obliged to report all absences,
T be they authorized or unauthorized, to the Local Education Inspector.
E Dropping off & Collecting Children

kindly request that you do not stop your car outside of the school entrance to drop off or collect your
children PLEASE PARK FIRST.

FOUNDATION STAGE & PRIMARY

Pupils in FOUNDATION 1 & FOUNDATION 2 should be collected promptly at 3:00pm.


T ALL OTHER YEAR GROUPS should be collected promptly at 3.10pm (or at 4.00pm if they are
attending an after-school club). Times may be staggered in line with government guidelines (further
H information about this will be issued at the beginning of the school year).
E At the end of the school day parents of pupils in Foundation 1, may come into the small covered patio
to collect their children.

B All other pupils should be dropped off and collected from their designated Bubble entrance (further
information about this will be issued at the beginning of the school year)
R Pupils will only be handed over to their parents or persons authorised by them. Please inform
I Administration if a different person will be picking up your child.

SECONDARY & SIXTH FORM
I
Parents of pupils in Years 7 & 8 who would like their children to leave school unaccompanied should
S request this in writing.
H If you would like your child to collect a younger brother or sister and then walk to meet you at a
designated place, we will require a letter from you giving this permission.
Pupils in Years 9 to 13 shou
S building on the corner of Calle Jaun de Echeverría and Calle Miguel Delibes.
C At the end of the day, pupils in Years 9 to 13 are allowed to leave school unaccompanied.

Appointments with the Headteacher & Teaching Staff

O The Headteacher and staff will be pleased to talk to any parent concerning their child's education.
Please contact Administration to arrange an appointment and give the reason for your request.

NB. Most of our teachers can speak a little Spanish; however, if you have anything complicated to
transmit the onus is on the parent to supply a translator.

Reports are issued twice a year with Mid-Year reports in January and End-of-Year reports in June.

No school uniform. However, students are expected to dress in a respectful manner appropriate
for study. For example a plain top without writing and smart trousers or jeans with no rips, flat
O shoes or trainers. You should not have visible piercings or tattoos and not reveal any inappropriate
parts of your body. If you are dressed inappropriately you will be asked to return home to change

General Appearance

Pupils are expected to keep their uniform in pristine condition.

Long hair must be tied back at all times with a plain hair fastener.

If hair is dyed, it must be within the natural colour range.

Makeup and nail varnish is not permitted.

E Jewellery Code
Watches (but not smartwatches) may be worn and one set of stud earrings.
No other item of jewellery or adornment will be permitted in school.

Mobile Phones
Mobile phones and smartwatches must be handed in to the Headteacher at the start of the day.

H Internet & Social Networking Sites

E All Pupils from Year 6 to 13 are expected to have their own laptop for use at school.
The school has a clear policy on IT acceptable use.

B All Pupils from Year 6 to 13 are expected to sign and adhere to an IT agreement.

R Misuse of the Internet is not tolerated.


Posting of pictures, videos and information related to the school on personal social media sites is not
