Hexekind Liebe Backstory

General Story
Shortly after Ms. and Mrs. Liebe’s marriage, they felt the need to start a
family of their own. They settled down in a small town where they started their
business and sold their toys and trinkets. They eventually raised enough money to
start a family and support a child of their own.
Unfortunately, disaster struck when Ms. and Mrs. Liebe found out that they
would be unable to create a child of their own. Distraught and desperate, they both
seeked out other options to have a child. All options were far too expensive for their
small budget and things seemed bleak.
With nowhere left to go, they turned to darker measures; getting a Mare
Witch to magically give them a baby. It was successful and a healthy baby boy was
born. This child was named Hexekind Liebe and lived a happy childhood with only
one thing ever plaguing him; a strange birthmark over his right eye. His parents
always told him it made him special, but there was much more to it.
During his teens, Hexekind discovered the truth about his origins and it left
him upset that such an important truth would be kept from him. This initially
manifested in an anger towards his parents, but overtime he grew out of his hatred
and instead channeled it into battle. He took up sword fighting and his hexed
origins gave him magic of his own.
He had made up with his parents and was finally at peace with who he was.
Well, other than his deep love for battle and chaos that is. This peace would not last
too long, since soon the Mare Witch returned with the intent of taking back what
was “rightfully” hers, according to her. With no other option, Hexekind said his
goodbyes and left his town in hopes to get away from that old hag.

The Mare Witch

No she’s not an actual female horse it is just the name of the creature I based
her off of:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mare_(folklore)
She practically kills in the same way a Mare does. She sits on people’s chests
to suffocate them and gives them nightmares so they are afraid as they die. She gets
life from killing creatures, but giving them nightmares makes it more enjoyable for
her (not part of real Mare folklore).
Her actual character, while trying to get Hexekind, is much more like the
annoying family member who you’ve met once and is surprised you don’t
remember her. She follows Hexekind around hoping that her baby will finally come
back to her and so they can have the mother-son relationship they never got to
have. Completely ignores other party members when they try to get in the way and
often uses spells and tricks so she can get closer to Hexekind.
Strangely always starts conversations that she talks with Hexekind with
“hello deary!”

Ms. and Mrs. Liebe

Although not the wisest (clearly), they always have good intent with their
actions and never steer from their original, kind intentions.

Ms. Liebe used to serve in the military but never went to war thanks to Mrs.
Liebe. She was able to escape serving in the military to live the life she wanted with
her one and only. Ms. Liebe later picked up toy making as a hobby which
eventually led to her job after they both had settled down. Although she makes toys
for a living, she acts very tough on the outside, insisting that she is a tough nut to
crack and is not sweet to anyone.
Mrs. Liebe is a very kind being, with dreams of being a singer. Despite being
incredible at singing, she settled for the next best thing, tinkering. Becoming an
artificer and tinkerer allowed her to use her natural smarts for her job which she
found easier than putting herself out there and singing. Although still not very
successful, she is happy with her living situation. Despite looking nice and sweet on
the outside, she will kill if she has to.ESPECIALLY for the people she loves.

Although upset after Hexekind left to escape the witch, they both knew it
might happen one day. They didn’t know it would happen this early, but they were
prepared for it to happen. They are also glad they were able to fix their relationship
with their son before he left. If Hexekind ever finds his way back, they will gladly
welcome him back into their home.
