SUBJECT FIELD TRACKER MANUAL MODE WITH AUTO CENTERING

Instruction
To install the Manual-Auto-Center package:
1. Remove the training seat container.
2. Remove the knobs retaining the right hand console to the Operator ’s seat. Set the console on
the seat cushion.
3. Slide the Operator ’s seat forward. Remove the re-circulation filter and frame wires. Remove the
electrical distribution area cover and cup holder.
4. Locate the Field Tracker cab harness to front harness connector 76.Connector 76 is in the right
rear lower corner of the cab. Locate the violet/orange wire connected to terminal “E ”(2300
series combines)or terminal “12 ”(2100 series combines).Remove the wire and terminal from the
cab side of the connector.
5. From the kit components, identify the new Manual-Auto-Center adapter harness wire with a male
terminal on one end and a male terminal and a “Jiffy Splice ”union on the opposite end. Insert
the male terminal (nearest the Jiffy Splice)of the adapter harness into connector 76,terminal “E ”
(2300 series combines)or terminal “12 ”(2100 series combines). Insure the terminal is latched
into the connector.
6. Insert the existing violet/orange wire (removed from connector 76 in step 4)into the Jiffy Splice
connector. Insure the terminal is latched into the splice connector.
7. Route and secure the new wire across the rear of the cab and into the cab pressurizer
compartment (below the training seat)using the existing harness clamps and additional tie straps
as required. Reinstall the re-circulation frame and filter. Reinstall the electrical distribution cover
and cup holder.
8. Locate the cab harness to console harness connector 8.Locate the open cavity 24 of connector
8. Insert the male terminal of the adapter harness wire into cavity 24 of the cab harness side of
the connector. Insure the terminal is latched into the connector.
9. From the kit components, identify the remaining Manual-Auto-Center adapter harness wire with
female terminals on each end. Insert the appropriate female terminal of the adapter harness into
the console harness side of connector 8,cavity 24.Insure the terminal is latched into the
connector.
10. Remove the (4) lower right hand console retaining screws and remove the lower console.
11. Using a tape wire, route the new Manual-Auto-Center adapter harness wire to the right hand
console through the wiring and linkage tube.
12. Secure the new Manual-Auto-Center wire to the rear of the right hand console.
13. Carefully remove the existing Auto/Manual switch from the right hand console. Remove the
switch lamp from the socket.
14. Gently pull the wiring out of the console switch opening to allow the switch connector to be
removed from the switch back.
15. Route the new Manual-Auto-Center wire through the console switch opening.
16. Identify cavity 7 of the Field Tracker switch connector. Insert the new Manual-Auto-Center
adapter harness wire into cavity 7.Insure the terminal is latched into the connector.
17. Locate the new 3-position switch and lens from the kit components. Carefully insert the lens into
the switch assembly.
18. Clean and dry the console area immediately near the switch opening. Apply the new Manual-
Auto-Center decal from the kit components over the existing decal.
19. Connect the new 3-position Manual-Auto-Center switch to the switch connector. Install the
switch lamp into the switch. Install the switch into the console with the lens facing forward.
20. Verify that the new Manual-Auto-Center wire is routed away and secured from all moving
components under the console.
21. Reinstall the lower right hand console and the (4) retaining screws. Install the right hand console
on to the seat. Install the training seat container.
22. Verify operation of the new 3-position Field Tracker switch. With the engine running and the
separator and feeder engaged:
♦ Depress the front switch to enter the Auto Mode. Lower the feeder below the Feeder Limit
Switch activation point. The feeder will tilt to the left (w/o header or when the Field Tracker
header harness is not connected to the combine). The combine hydraulic system will be on
demand. Raise the feeder above the Feeder Limit Switch activation point. Feeder
automatically self-centers.
♦ Depress the center of the switch to enter the Manual Mode. Manually tilt the feeder either
direction with the Tilt switch on the propulsion lever. The feeder remains tilted when the
switch is released regardless of feeder height.
♦ Depress the rear of the switch to enter the Manual-Auto-Center Mode. Lower the feeder
below the Feeder Limit Switch activation point. Manually tilt the feeder either direction. The
combine hydraulic system should not be on demand when the Tilt switch is released. Slowly
raise the feeder above the Feeder Limit Switch activation point. Feeder automatically self-
centers. Lower the feeder below the Feeder Limit Switch activation point. The feeder
remains self-centered until the Tilt switch is depressed.
