Ten thousand years ago, the primary source of food was the natural world, and depending on

what was available, humans would either hunt wild animals or gather plants. Due to agriculture,
there was restricted availability of food, hunting and gathering groups had to relocate to various
regions, such as the tropics, where a wide variety of plants are found, or somewhere near a body
of water where they could fish. Hunter-gatherers had to be nomadic since their ability to hunt
was dependent on where the animals got their food and the climate, leading to many societies
having to make do with a meagre diet because they camped in one location.
