creating their art.
o Students will be given a blank piece of paper in which they will
fold in thirds hotdog style, and then fourths hamburger style to
divide the paper into sections. On both the front and back, for
every topic reviewed during the PowerPoint, students will write
what they remembered before the review about the concept,
medium, technique, or form of expression (on the left side of
the paper) and what they now know after the review (in the
center of the paper).
o At the end of the lesson, the students will then be asked to fill
out the remaining squares (on the right side of the paper) with
ideas of different ways to demonstrate that technique, concept,
medium, or form of expression.
 (30-40 min.)
 Students are given the remainder of the period to brainstorm and
decide which concept, medium, technique, or form of expression they
wish to demonstrate. As soon as they have chosen, the students can
begin creating their art pieces with the knowledge that the
assignment is due at the beginning of their next class along with the
papers they filled out during the day’s lesson.

Check for Understanding:

 The check for understanding is the information the students filled out
during class.
