The Legend of Tanjung Penyusuk

Once upon a time, there were a king and his queen who lived in the Kingdom of
Belinyu. They didn't have any child. Until one night, the queen had a dream of a turtle. It
said that a queen would have a baby, and she had to give a komala neckalce to her baby. The
queen woke up and she was holding a Komala necklace in her hand. She told her dream to
the king and he was very happy.

Shortly, the queen's dream became reality, she delivered a beautiful baby girl. The
king named her, Komala. She grew up as a pretty girl, however, she had a bad attitude
because her parents always spoiled her too much.

One day, Komala heard her parents were talking about the turtle in her mother's
dream. She thought that the turtle was very interesting animal, so she wanted it as her pet.
She insisted to find it. The King actually did not agree with his daughter's plan because he
himself did not know where the turtle lived. But because Komala continued to force, eventually
the King's heart melted as well. He also allowed his daughter to look for the turtle in his wife's
dream.
So, accompanied by government guards, Komala looked for turtles in all directions. To
forests, rivers, mountains, valleys and finally they arrived at a beach. Apparently Komala's luck
was good, she found it in the beach. Seeing the ugly shape and smell of the turtle, komala
changed her mind instantly. Hearing this, The turle went away to the sea. She shouted it,
“penyu busuk, wait for me,” in several times but the turtle kept swimming. Komala ran after it
into the middle of the sea, trying to catch it.
Komala was unaware that the big waves seen in the distance were getting closer and
rolled her body and pulled her far into the middle of the sea. She finally drowned and
disappeared. The guards tried to help but failed. Since then, the beach where Komala
disappeared was named Tanjung Penyusuk or Penyusuk Cape, which is an abbreviation of
Rotten Turtle (Penyu Busuk).
This story teaches us to always be kind and not arbitrary to anyone.
