teenagers. It’s also tackled the possible solutions to avoid the wrong doing or habit on using Internet.

networks can be extremely beneficial to youth, especially those who are socially excluded, have impairments, or
suffer from chronic illnesses. Teens also use social media for entertainment and self-expression. And the
platforms can expose teens to current events, allow them to interact across geographic barriers and teach them
about a variety of subjects, including healthy behaviors. Social media that's humorous or distracting or provides
a meaningful connection to peers and a wide social network might even help teens avoid depression. It is hoped
that the findings of this study will bridge the gap of lack of sufficient information on the effects of social media

study was conducted at Emigdio A. Bondoc High School. To attain the general information of the research,
researcher conduct a questionnaire to teenager students of Emigdio A. Bondoc High School. The researcher will
ask those people to gather more data that this research needed.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
This study is based on the UG theory founded by Elihu Katz in. Is a theory who explaining the
different kind of internet addiction and what the effect of it’s? It’s described on how internets give an
importance and worst to every users of it. And also saying on these theory, on how internet suitable for anyone.
Elihu also says that the Addiction is the one of the main example that was given on UG theory. Being addicted
to an extreme level is bad, this can take away your precious time that should be used for other things more
productive. Teenagers, children, and adults can be addicted on using common websites; they may easily get
online and look for anything they want, from the favorite music videos & TV shows or too difficult homework
Related Theories
Social media has turned into a portion of our daily life. As each coin has two sides, social media also has
favored standpoint and hindrance. Social media can boon or bane depends upon our exploitation the way we use
it. Today, social media use is nearly universal among Adolescents. They are the most enthusiastic users of social
networking and social media. Aim: Purpose of this study is to examine the attitudes of adolescents toward social
media. Specifically, the study has been designed to investigate whether social media boon or bane to the society
and to the adolescents. It is a study of descriptive character with a qualitative approach. The participants of the
research were students of the College of Applied Medical Science, Hafar Al-Batin, and Saudi Arabia. The
sample was comprised by students of the nursing department, who agreed to participate in the research, there
were deleted from the research the ones who did not fill the questionnaire. Data collection was carried out
through a questionnaire that characterized the students sociodemographic, besides guiding the questions
regarding the attitude of adolescents towards social media. Data analysis was done with SPSS statistical
package version 20. The data collected displayed that adolescents recognized that social media has an influence
on their social life and relationship, lifestyle, health, academic performance, and privacy and security. The boon
or the bane of social media on adolescents originates in based on how they use it. If they use it positively, it can
give unbelievable returns to them. On the other hand, a lot of adolescents waste a big portion of their time on
social media. With social media, the information of a lot of adolescents has now become digital which may
cause their confidentiality at risk. This help the hackers shot and acquire data for their use on a daily basis now a
day.
Related Literature
People become addicted or dependent on the Internet through excessive computer use that
interferes with daily life. The Internet has also enabled new forms of self-expression. Through avatars in online-
games and chat rooms, people cannot only freely express their opinions, but also assume different personalities
and express themselves as they never would dare to in real life. This may not in every case be a positive
development, as some people may deliberately cloak their true identities in order to commit criminal activities.
But the positive effects certainly lie in the ability to express and find one's identity beyond questions of
ethnicity, gender, race, or social status. Conflicts in identities can be discussed with like-minded people openly
A doctor cannot diagnose a problem without talking to the patient; likewise, children and parents
must feel comfortable discussing Internet problems. Parents need to encourage children to report whatever
happens on the Internet. Research has shown that about 25 percent of children do not report inappropriate
Internet experiences. The explanations for this vary; many children are too scared, ashamed, or shocked to tell.
Parents must build a level of trust that encourages their children to report fears of any kind. Parents should not
blame themselves when their children encounter problems online. (Yan June 2007)
Anxieties about teenager online relationships tend to be regarding to the contact and socialization
with the stranger, and also regarding the use of technological tools to harm or moles someone as well as to be
bullied. Although, according to Wolak et al (2002) –The majority of Internet initiated connections involving
youth appear to be friendship related, nonsexual, and formed between similar-aged youth and known to parents.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This study focus on the method and techniques that the researchers will do. This chapter
will discus the following: methods and techniques, target population, sampling strategy, data gathering
The data for the analysis of knowing the cause and effect of internet was taken by using a
researcher made up of questionnaire. The questionnaire checklist established the relationship between social
media and teenagers, on how internet affects the behavior of every teenager who used it. The current study also
examined how participants described the influenced of social media to them, on how they use internet in a

to know their perspective on how social media can affect their everyday lifestyle.
After gathering data, researchers of this study gave a discussion on each question, which was given
on questionnaire to the sureness and reality of the data, which was provided secure information which are
relevant to the study. After those procedures above, data were analyzed and treated statistically.
The participant on this study was the 50% of Grade 10 Junior Highschool students currently
enrolled in Emigdio A. Bondoc High School (EABHS). A total of 85 junior high students cooperatively
participate in this study. The researchers selected all of the section of Grade 10 these are the following;
Humility, Honesty, Integrity and Sincerity they are 170 total students. The researchers selected 50% of the
students sample participants, a total of eighty-five (85) students in grade 10 at EABHS will answer the survey
questionnaire that the researcher handed. The table 1 shows the distribution of the participants.

the researcher used the questionnaire because is viewed as a primary research tool for researchers to
gather data from a target audience. A letter of request to conduct the study was prepared. The researcher
constructed a questionnaire checklist. The researcher conducts the research in (Emigdio A. Bondoc High
School) through survey method. The researcher explains to the respondents the importance of their response to
the study. The researcher clarifies some terms to the respondents so that the respondents can answer
questionnaire with full knowledge of their responsibility as the subject of the study. The researcher requested
the respondents to answer with all honesty. The researcher believes that this method is the most appropriate in
choosing the sample for the research. After the respondents answer the questionnaire, the researcher collected
Compare to other research methods such as the interview, the questionnaire helps the researcher to bring the
greater structure, which can help the researcher to maximize the success of what ever you`re trying to
Based on the data the researcher comes up with conclusion and recommendations for this study.
Data Gathering Procedure
In gathering the needed data, the researchers will ask approval through letter to the principal and
consent to the teachers of Emigdio A. Bondoc Highschool to conduct this study. The researcher will conduct a
structured questionnaire using google form to the selected grade 10 students of Emigdio A. Bondoc Highschool.
The researchers collected the data by means of sending a link to the selected students to ask for some of their
personal informations and questions regarding to the researcher's study, the survey google form is consist of
three parts: Part I includes the personal informations comprises their name, age, gender, year and section, the
informations provided will be kept confidential. Part II is the Dichotomous questions, it is answered only with
Yes/No. Lastly, Part III is the likert scale to measure how much a respondents agree or disagree to the students'
learning styles in the new normal. After the respondents have taken the test; the researchers will check, tallied,
