Report on a Visit to Sentosa Island in Singapore Sentosa Island was the destination that we, The Teen Society,

went last week in conjunction with our Stress-Free Campaign. After a couple of group discussion of our destination for SMK Green Roads Stress-Free Campaign, we finally chose Sentosa Island, Singapore. It is well known for its Southeast Asias first and only night luge experience. The purpose of this whole journey was as a step to relief stress and to get away from the usual tensing life especially after a whole year of hard work. Our group of 16 members was mostly senior members which were from Form 5 classes. Another 4 teachers accompanied us on a day trip to Sentosa Island directly from Johor Bahru on the 13Th of May. We chartered a bus from our school to Singapore City at 10 a.m. All of us were equipped with everything necessary like mobile phones. Soon after reaching the Singapore City at around 11 a.m, we took a cable car ride across to Sentosa Island where we had an extraordinary experience moving over the sea. We then took a luge cart ride along 650 metres down a hill. It was a very interesting experience and fun-filled gravity ride with pure excitement. The ride was very exhilarating as we race down the 650 metres path with the feeling of breeze and rush of adrenaline. Besides, the luge cart with unique steering and braking system gave us the full control to choose our way of fun. After reaching the end of the ride, we planned to take a Skyride back to our starting point and have the luge ride again. We had the ride for 3 times all evening which was very enjoyable. After reaching the end of the ride, we decided to have a walk along the Siloso Beach. It was indeed one of the most beautiful sandy beaches that we have ever seen. All of us had a joyful time talking and walking spending our time together while enjoying the beach. Next at around 7pm, we took the scenic Skyride where we had a wonderful chance to view the brightly lit Singapore City skyline. The Songs Of The Sea show was very interesting with laser light and musical show that we enjoyed from the Skyride . Soon after that, we took the Sentosa Express Beach Station ride back to the Singapore City where we did not miss to have a look at the popular Merlion of

Singapore. We took the bus back to Johor Bahru and reached at 8.30p.m. We all had the same thought by that time which is the entire luge and skyride experience was definitely proven that once was never enough. Mohd Firdaus ( 5S1 )
