Introduction

This document lists the earliest location for most useful items in the game. It’s not a definitive list of
every single item location, as that’s not really necessary – you don’t need to know that there’s a free Sun
Stone in Mossdeep if you can buy them in Mauville! There are a few things to note:

• TMs are reusable, so each one can only be obtained once.

• Mega Stones are also one of a kind. They have their own bag pocket so you’ll always have space
for any you find.
• Some competitive items like Choice Specs and Life Orb are also one of a kind, but you’ll be able
to get more at the Battle Frontier once it’s finished.
• Every evolution item can be bought in a mart somewhere. If they can only be bought in a mart,
that’ll be stated in the list.
• Wild held items are not listed here, unless they’re the only way to obtain a certain item.
Information on wild held items can be found in the base stats file. Items in this file will be named with
underscores instead of spaces and hyphens, and with no special characters. E.g. to find out what holds a
King’s Rock, you’d search for KINGS_ROCK. “.item1” means that item will be held by that Pokémon 50%
of the time, and “.item2” means it will be held 5% of the time.

Poké Marts are still present in the hack, but the mart system has been overhauled:

Bottle Caps are needed to change your Pokémon’s IVs, so I’ll include every location you can find these.

One-time locations
• Abandoned Ship 1F: Hidden in a trashcan
• Aqua Hideout B1F and B2F: Hidden in a trashcan
• Dewford Manor: Hidden in a trashcan
• Fortree City: Reward for beating Spencer – three caps
• Lavaridge Town: Reward for beating Lucy – three caps
• Mossdeep City: Hidden on a rock on the beach north of the city
• Mt. Chimney: Hidden in the trashcan in the cable car station
• Route 109: Hidden on the beach chairs – two caps
• Route 110: Hidden in a clear patch in the grass
• Weather Institute: Reward for beating Shelly – four caps
• Rustboro City: Hidden in the fountain
• Slateport City: Reward for beating Greta – six caps
• Slateport City: Trade Scanner to Captain Stern for twelve caps
• All hidden items that were originally Heart Scales are now Bottle Caps (that’s 15 caps)
• Altering Cave: Reward for beating Leaf - 30 caps
Repeatable locations
• Mauville City: Hidden in the trashcans in the Game Corner – two caps that respawn daily
• Route 124: trade colored shards at the treasure hunter’s house. One shard for one cap. Shards
are commonly held by all Pokémon found while diving except for Relicanth.
• Possible reward from the Lottery Corner
• Every Battle Tent: 3 caps for every clear
• Can be found by Pokémon with Pickup (see the Pickup section of this document)
• Can be found when using Rock Smash on breakable rocks (please don’t try to farm this, the odds
aren’t good! If you actually get one it’s a nice bonus)

That’s over 60 Bottle Caps (including one-time Shard locations) without grinding the repeatable sources
or abusing the clock, plus another 30 in the post game. You’ll need 30-36 caps to perfect a team of six
mons, so hopefully that’s enough for you!
