Okay, so why are we offering this course called water resources systems? There are some you
know characteristics of the water, right?
1) Water is a limited sources
So the first characteristics is water is limited resource. I think if we have abundant water
resources, and if there are no problems relating to water resources, then then we would not have
this water engineering and management program, right? I mean, you don't need to study water
because there is a good name, the amount of water available and everyone can access it, but
that's not the case. We consider water is a limited resource. Okay. So, although, you know, we
have plenty of water resources. 97% is of the water is salt water, right? The ocean body When
we cannot use that. And one in 3% is of what in the FRESH space model out of that, 3% is
probably. 68% of water is locked up into the snow ice and we can release that. And so freshwater
is available in the form of groundwater, but you have to extract the groundwater like the weather
and extracting down one very less percentage of water is available in the form of the rivers and
lakes, right?
2) water has a multiple uses and users
So there are several use of the water. Okay, water can be used for the drinking water. Right.
Water can be used for the irrigation for the acupuncture, right? Water is used for the industries
like hydropower food industries, right? Textile industries. So you have limited amount of water,
but you have many uses and multiple users and and, you know, every sector they want to use,
