HOW TO PLAN YOUR DAY
1. A REASONABLE wakeup and bedtime. It Is absolutely crucial that you get as much sleep as you need to function optimally, not just 'barely enough' sleep.

2. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Remember, cooking and dishes take time, too!

3. Self-care (shower, exercise, personal hygiene, etc.).

4. Time for reviewing First Aid, Rx Bricks, and other written materials, such as Goljan, textbooks, etc.

5. Time for questions. If you want to cover a certain NUMBER of questions during the Crunch Month, see the next page for a questions-per-day calculator

6. Time for going over questions.

7. Periodic half-hour breaks. Remember, studying > 2 hours nonstop may cause mental fatigue and inefficient studying - depending on your attention span!

8. When you've accounted for all of the hours in your full study day, consider using the Rx Study Planner to plan your day, hour by hour. For many people, a routin

HOW TO PLAN YOUR WEEK HALF DAYS:

1. Start by entering the dates of the first Sun

day of each week in the blue row of the first
column to keep track of the time between
the start of your dedicated study period and -
your Step 1 exam.
-
-
2. Most days will be spent following your -
schedule from the Daily tab. If you plan to -
spend the day on something else (practice
tests, going over weak points, days off), -
enter it in the blue row
Hours 0.0

3. Consider front-loading your full study -

days and devoting more of your last week(s)
to practice tests, reviewing weak points, -
and First Aid's Rapid Review section. Taking
a half day or a day off before Step 1 is -
encouraged! -
-
4. Count the number of full- and half-study
days on your schedule, enter them in the -
yellow box, then do a REALITY CHECK! The Hours 0.0
sheet will calculate the approximate
number of First Aid pages worth of material
you have to study per hour. Does this seem
like a realistic pace? -
-
5. If you're planning to cover a certain -
number of questions, enter that number
above (optional). Then do a REALITY CHECK. -
Does the approximate number of hours
spent on questions per day match the time -
you allocated to them on the Daily tab? -
Hours 0.0
6. Adjust your Monthly and Daily planners
to accomplish your goals realistically, then
move onto the next worksheet (Subject -
List) to determine how much time each
subject will take.
6. Adjust your Monthly and Daily planners
to accomplish your goals realistically, then
move onto the next worksheet (Subject
List) to determine how much time each
subject will take. -
-
-
7. Use the drop-down menus to select
subjects to review during each study day -
that you've planned. As you select subjects,
your total number of hours of study for the -
day will be calculated. Based on how many Hours 0.0
hours you allotted for concept review each
day, the cell will either turn red (if you need
to increase your review time) or blue (if you
need to decrease your review time). Ignore -
if you only plan to spend a half-day -
studying.
-
-
-
8. You can choose to schedule the entire -
month or day-by-day. Keep in mind that Hours 0.0
planning day-by-day only works if you keep
up with the amount of material you were
supposed to cover each day.
-
-
-
-
9. You can spread a single subject over
multiple days. If you assign a subject to -
multiple days, the calendar assumes you
will study half one day and half on the other -
(same goes for three, four, or any number Hours 0.0
