Tips for Case Presentation

1. It is very important that you correlate the history and physical findings to a specific tract or structure
and then tie them all together to come up with a specific, discrete lesion in the nervous system (e.g.
internal capsule, posterior region, left side or brainstem, medulla, anterior region, left side)

2. After localization, then narrow it down as to whether the lesion is something vascular, degenerative,
infectious, congenital, traumatic, etc.

3. Then further specify by naming the probable etiology like ruptured aneurysm or arterio-venous
malformation, rupture of lenticulostriate arteries, embolism of right MCA, Strep , fungal or TB
meningitis, etc.

4. Make your slides as compact and concise as possible. Write only the important salient points. Do not
overcrowd the slide so that when you present, your audience will look and listen to what you are saying
because many things are said that are not in the slides. It will make your presentation nice and you will
look confident with mastery.

5. This is a group work so everybody should make sure that everyone knows what everyone has to say
so that there will be harmony in the overall story of the presentation.

6. Remember, this is supposed to help pull up your grades and not to pull them down. So, do it well so
that it will be a good finished product you all would be proud of.

7. God bless you all!
