USE AND PRODUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OF UNIFIED DIVISION PROTOTYPE


LESSON PLANS

1. In compliance with the fundamental requisites provided in Regional Memorandum No.


0716, s. 2022 entitled "Use of Unified Division Prototype Lesson Plans and Production
and Management of its Accompanying Instructional Materials/ Teaching Aids," DepEd
encourages reduction of clerical tasks of teachers and maximizing their time for actual
teaching and learning and adherence to the DepEd Regional Office 7 commitment to improve
learning outcomes by contextualizing the curriculum, increasing access to quality appropriate
and varied learning resources and ensure quality delivery of the curriculum.

2. This initiative is aimed at:


a. producing localized and indigenized prototype lesson plans per subject area per
grade level in the spirit of contextualization;
b. eliminating the time spent by teachers in the preparation of daily handwritten lesson plans;
c. giving the teachers more time in designing I Ms/ teaching aids;
d. giving enough time to teachers in reading supplementary materials for additional
information regarding the lesson they will deliver;
e. creating learners' authentic assessment to ensure better learning outcomes; and
f. providing the teachers ample time for remediation, reinforcement, and enhancement to
learners.

3. For monitoring the delivery of the targeted competencies per grade and subject area in a
quarter, Key Stage and in-charge are the following:

USE OF UNIFIED DIVISION PROTOTYPE LESSON PLANS AND PRODUCTION AND


MANAGEMENT OF ITS ACCOMPANYING INSTRUCTIONAL
MATERIALS/TEACHING AIDS

To: Schools Division Superintendents

1. Consistent to the efforts of the Department of Education (DepEd) in reducing the


clerical tasks and maximizing the time of teachers to actual teaching and learning and in
consonance to the DepEd Regional Office 7 commitment to improve learning outcomes by
contextualizing the curriculum, increasing access to quality, appropriate and varied
learning resources and ensure quality delivery of the curriculum , this Office is giving the
Schools Division Offices the leeway to come up with division- unified prototype lesson plans
and its accompanying instructional materials (IMs)/teaching aids that shall be utilized by
all the teachers in Key stage 1 (Kindergarten to Grade 3), Key stage 2 (Grades 4 to 6), Key
stage 3 (Grades 7 to 10) and Key stage 4 (Grades 11 to 12) starting school year 2022- 2023.

2. This initiative is aimed at:

3. For ease in monitoring the delivery of the targeted competencies per grade level and
subject in a quarter, the teacher together with the school head shall prepare a quarterly
competency budget plan in a form of a checklist before the start of the classes. To monitor
the extent of competencies covered, this Office is recommending the following contents of
the checklist:
a. List of Competencies (already printed per grade per subject per quarter)
b. Learners' Performance (Number of learners who mastered/not mastered the
competency/ ies)
c. Remarks (may include the intervention of the teacher to address students who have
not mastered the competency /ies, notes of teacher for not achieving the

lesson/ target competencies, feedback/ agreement with the principal and other
instructional supervisors during their classroom visits, see enclosure No.l).

4. To hasten the harvest of prototype lesson plans, each Schools Division Office is
enjoined to create a team composed of writers preferably but not limited to Master teachers
to be chaired by either the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent or Chief of the
Curriculum and Instruction Division. The team shall also include and utilize the expertise
of subject specialists and potential SLM writers. The team shall ensure the availability of
prototype lesson plans before the start of every quarter and shall lead in the provision of
capacity building and technical assistance on the use of prototype lesson plans to school
heads, instructional leaders, and teachers (See enclosure No. 2).

5. It is likewise envisioned that alongside the prototype lesson plans are the provision
of £Ms/teaching aids that will be used by the teachers in the teaching-learning process.
Production of !Ms/teaching aids shall be initiated by the schools and a support may be
secured from external stakeholders such as but not limited to LGUs, NGOs, private partners
and volunteers. All teacher/school developed and produced !Ms/teaching aids per grade
level and subject must be managed efficiently to be led and facilitated by the division
learning resources management focal person and learning resources coordinator in the
school level respectively. For efficiency purposes, all these IMs/ teaching aids must be
available for use/re-use by strengthening school learning resource management system
implementation to wit:
a. Establish school functional LR Hub and classroom nook where all these
!Ms/teaching aids are deposited;
b. Use bins in collecting and organizing these !Ms/teaching aids to be reused and
recycled;
c. Adopt or develop a system that will facilitate easy access of all !Ms/teaching aids by
the teachers.

6. All personnel and teachers involved in the harvest and development of prototype
Lesson plans may avail of service credits/compensatory time off subject to existing rules
and regulations on the grant of such incentive.

7. For immediate dissemination and guidance of all concerned.

Accompanying Instructional Materials/Teaching Aids)

To: Schools Division Superintendents

1. With reference to RM No. 716, s. 2022 (Use of Unified Diuision. Prototype Lesson Plans
and Production and Management of Its Accompanying Instructional Materials/Teachi.ngAids),
this Office hereby directs all schools division offices to upload their prototype lesson plans
to a GDrive created for this purpose.

2. The Prototype Lesson Plans (PLP) to be uploaded shall have undergone quality
assurance processes to ensure that these are free from language, content, and
computational errors, no violation of social content, and no copyright issues. These PLPs
will also undergo further QA processes in the region.

3. To have smooth file management, only the division librarians are responsible for
uploading the said PLPs. The link for the specific folders will be directly sent to them. The
followingare the indicative dates for uploading:
