11. Visualization of KPI Matrices
Let’s Look at the Data and get some insights!
A quick look at the count of records for different attributes like gender and grade gives us the
following insights.

1.Tracking month-wise absenteeism

Objective Needs to improve attendance
Source Data table Monthly Attendance (Students, SchoolWorkingCalendar)
KPI Number of Absentees by month
Key Attributes Name of month, Absent counts
KPI Calculations Attendance = Working days – Absent days
Visualization

Insights Month-wise Absentees was highest for September at 1889, followed by

October and August. September accounted for 36.59% of Month-wise
Absentees.
Missing Data Historical data of last few years required to show Absenteeism Trend

2. Tracking Grade-wise Average Attendance

Objective Needs to improve attendance
Source Data table Monthly Attendance (Students, SchoolWorkingCalendar, AbsentDays for
all grades)
KPI Grade-wise Average Attendance
Key Attributes Attendance %, Grade
KPI Calculations Attendance % = Attendance / Working Days
Visualization

Insights 1. Across all 4 Grade, Average of Attendance % ranged from 80.49% to

96.75%.
2. Grade 12 had the lowest Average of Attendance % at 80.49%, followed
by 10, 9, and 11. Corrective measures can be taken to motivate grade 12
students to attend school regularly.

3. Attendance by Gender
Objective Needs to improve attendance
Source Data table Students, SchoolWorkingCalendar, AbsentDays for all grades
KPI Attendance by Gender
Key Attributes % Attendance, Gender
KPI Calculations Attendance = Working days - Absent days
Visualization

Insights Attendance Level was higher for Female (214) than Male (182). From this
insight, the school can decide some strategies to promote attendance
amongst boys.

4. Tracking Area-wise Enrollment

Objective Figure out overall enrolment
Source Data table Students
KPI Enrollment by Location
Key Attributes StudentID, Streetname
Visualization

Insights 1. Discrepancy: As the current dataset contains students from New

York City only but map show few values from Africa and other cities
too. So, some of the StreetName attribute may contain some
incorrect values.
2. Birchwood had the highest Count of StudentID at 5).

3
5. Enrollment Vs Dropout – Retention Rate
Objective Figure out overall enrollment, reduce dropouts
Source Data table My Measure, Students, Enrollment
KPI Retention Rate
Key Attributes Total Students, Total Dropouts
KPI Calculations Retention rate = [(Total Students - Total Dropouts) /Total Students] 100
Visualization

Insights There is insufficient data regarding dropouts like reason for dropout. If
that data is available, retention rate can be used to set targeted
attendance rate.

6. Week-wise Absenteeism Tracking

Objective Needs to improve attendance
Source Data table SchoolWorkingCalendar, Weekendworking,Absent Days of all grade
KPI Week-wise Absentees
Key Attributes Absent Count, Working Date, AbsentDays
Visualization

Insights Which day of week has maximum absenteeism?

7. Top 5 Students of Grade 9 with Low Attendance

Objective Needs to improve attendance
Source Data table Student, SchoolWorkingCalendar, Absent Days for all grades
KPI Top 5 Students with Low Attendance
Key Attributes First Name, Attendance %
Visualization

Insights Top 5 Students of Grade 9
