(2nd semester) An abstract summarizes everything that about your paper. Readers
will find it interesting and motivated to read the details . This is a preview of what you
have to offer in your paper. This is make or break area whether the reader finds reliable
information of what they need and seek for. After all, the Abstract is the possible section
of your research that can be published for preview. (Cerejo, 2013) You need to pick out

Introduction
This section refers to the actual writing of your research paper. This is the
background of your research topic. This includes the history and your current
understanding of your topic. This also includes some highlights of the existing research
and why this research is worth to look into. This will also explain why you are interested
You need to include at least five (5) references. Other key sections of your
This refers to the description of the issue you want to pursue. This sets the

After a thorough reading of the related literature, you have to list the different variables
that might be relevant to your study and group them together into dependent and
independent variables.

This section refers to the significant contribution of your study to the community
and society as a whole (Regoniel, 2015). According to David (Walonick & Wong, 2002)
The significance of the study answers the questions:
For example, If you ask the question “Is there a significant relationship between
the teacher’s teaching style and the students’ long quiz scores in Mathematics?”
then the contribution of your research would probably be a teaching style or
styles (among say, three teaching styles you evaluated) that can help students
perform better in Mathematics. Your research will demonstrate that that teaching
style really works. That could be a groundbreaking approach that will change the
way teachers teach Mathematics which many students abhor (Excerpt from

Methodology
This chapter is very important because this will tell your readers the details of
your study. This will serve as your blue print in any activity that your will undertake. It
should contain specific information on how your research should be done. This will
justify all your actions that you may undertake since this will contain the detailed

What have you found out in your research? This section will summarize all your
findings and analysis. Do your findings answered your statement of the problem?

TIPS ON HOW TO DEFEND YOUR RESEARCH
B. During defense:
a. Make sure you brought everything with you. Don’t panic.
b. Record the comments, suggestions of the panel.
c. Be at the presentation venue at least 30 minutes before the start of your
presentation.
19
d. We don’t know what time each slot will take but assume that each
presentation will approximately take 25 minutes
e. Be open-minded. The panel members are experts and you will learn a lot
from them.
f. Ask one member/classmate to take down notes, presenters must be in front
and listen to the comments. You may want to do an audio recording of
the panel’s comments but ask for their permission first before you
