Billion thanks for the excellent book, “Behaviour- based safety”,

by Dr. H.L. Kaila. As wished, one is fling a review of the book.
Essential reading
Dr. H.L. Kaila, has done Amritsar, his native land proud. In
fact, he has done his country India - his mother-land proud by
writing an excellent book “Behaviour-based safety”. The book
has already gone into second edition within one year. This stands
testimony to the calibre of the noted psychologist of India, now
set to win international heights as a scholar.
The book, “Behaviour-based safety” is obviously Dr. Kaila’s
love of labour and his longing to serve society. As an intelligent person, he has selected
a good subject, mastered the subject over the years, particularly during his long stay in
Mumbai - he is a retired professor of psychology from the prestigious S.N.D.T.
University - industrial psychology is his area of specialization.
The best thing about “Behaviour-based safety” is that the writer has used a reader-
friendly style and also took the assistance of a skilful artist in decorating his chapters
with catchy sketches. The graphics too are good.
Dr. Kaila had his schooling and college education from Amritsar. He also studied
in the prestigious Panjab University, Chandigarh for higher studies in psychology, the
subject close to his heart from his early youth. He also studied in the more prestigious
Tata Institute of Social Sciences for specialization in the subject. While teaching in the
S.N.D.T University for more than three decades, Dr. Kaila also worked as a consultant
to many industrial houses of Mumbai. He was also a regular contributor to many
Mumbai- based newspapers.
In his Foreword Dr. V.B. Sant, Director General of the National Safety Council of
India has literally sang Dr. Kaila’s praise for his immense contribution in the most
important area of Safety - Safety of life as well as property by acting upon the mantras,
based on both the Indian and Western philosophy.
