INTRODUCTION

PURPOSE

Bentley provides AutoPIPE Commercial users with an Installation Test Set (ITS), so they can verify proper operation
of AutoPIPE program once it has been installed on a computer.

The accuracy of AutoPIPE is verified by Bentley during execution of Alpha Tests, which are performed prior to any
Commercial or Quality Assured release. Alpha Tests consist of a matrix of test systems designed to capture key
feature attributes related to numeric and functional processing. Each set of test outputs is compared to a prepared
set of expected results (i.e. MathCADs, hand calculations, some other well-established computer program etc.), and
evaluated for acceptance. This ITS is based on a selected sample of test systems from the entire Alpha Test matrix.

INSTALLATION VERIFICATION PROCEDURE

AutoPIPE Installation Test Set is a part of your AutoPIPE installation. Test system files are placed in an ITS folder
under AutoPIPE installation directory. Previously verified output files are placed in a directory named OUT located
inside the ITS directory.

AutoPIPE Installation Test Set uses the "Automated System Processing" feature available in AutoPIPE to
automatically execute the required analyses and produce an output report for each provided test system. Also, each
output file generated by the test is automatically compared to the corresponding previously verified output file (from
Alpha tests) located in the “OUT” directory of the AutoPIPE installation directory. The result of this comparison is
stored in the text file ComparisonLog.txt.

Following is the recommended procedure for executing the ITS:

1. Complete installation and licensing for AutoPIPE.

2. Launch AutoPIPE.
3. Select “Installation Test Set Verification” from the Help tab of AutoPIPE program ribbon.
4. To begin the automated system processing, hit the "Run" button on AutoPIPE Installation Test Set window.

If the “Show AutoPIPE User Interface” option is enabled, the AutoPIPE program window will pop up for each
model being analyzed during the automated Installation test set run.

5. The automated process begins. A progress bar displays the completion status of the run.

In the event of an error or warning message encountered during the ITS execution, the process is halted until
the note in the Message Window is cleared manually.

6. Upon completion of the automated runs, a notification is displayed that the ITS execution finished
successfully. An option is provided to the user for viewing the comparison log file. On clicking yes, a log file
is opened listing any differences between the generated result files and the pre-verified benchmark files. If
there is no difference between the two files, a message “No difference found. Comparison passed.” is
shown after each model’s result comparison.
