Clothing vocabulary

 antique (adj) — old (about things), something belonging to the past, traditional


Some people prefer antique furniture rather then modern one.
 baggy (adj) — loose (free-size sweater, t-shirt, etc.)
They love wearing ripped jeans with baggy t-shirt.
 brand loyalty (n) — emotionally-charged decision of a consumer for purchasing a
particular brand again and again
All companies with their promotions try to encourage brand loyalty.
 distressed jeans (n) — ripped jeans
This is very trendy these days to wear distressed jeans.
 dress down (v) — wear less formal clothes
In my office many staff dress down on Fridays.
 has set a new trend — started new fashion
The film has set a new trend for the leather jeans and trench coat.
 jet black (adj) — intensely black (usually about hair, eyes, etc)
Suddenly, we saw that girl with jet black hair.
 old-school (adv) — something that is old-fashioned or traditional (but not very old)
I also like to listen some old-school rock.
 outfit (n) — a set of clothes worn together
Usually they have special outfit to wear for the interview.
 pricey (adj) — expensive (informal)
I prefer no-label versions over the pricey branded products.
 smart-casual (adj) — informal, but clean and stylish
I have no special dress code for my position, and I prefer smart-casual style.
 strong colours (n) — opposite of pastel colours
She loves clothes with strong colours.
 super extravagant — spending too much money, or exceeding the limits of reason or
necessity
I won't buy something super extravagant, but a small cottage house near the sea I'd include
in my purchases list.
 trendy (adj) — fashionable
I guess almost all teenagers enjoy wearing trendy clothes.
 wardrobe (n) — what you wear usually; the set of clothes in your closet
My wardrobe consists mostly of smart-casual clothes.

 Stay current: to be up to date
 Spoiled for choice: to have a lot of options available to you
 High street: the main street where shops, banks and businesses are located.
 Unfathomable: unimaginable
 e-shops: stores that do business online
 click of a button: on a computer or device, something that requires very little effort
 at your doorstep: at your home or near where you live
 superimposed: when something is placed over something else so that the image of both
items is clear
 frame: the size and shape of someone’s body
 digital imagery: the collection of pixels on a screen that create an image
 brick and mortar stores: a physical shop as opposed to an online shop
 counterparts: someone who does the same job as someone else somewhere else
