STUDENTS’ LEVEL: Beginners

MATERIALS: blackboard, laptop, worksheets, videos

AIMS:

- to praise the students’ awareness of lexis for classroom objects;


- to praise listening;
- to listen to teacher describing objects;
- to describe objects.

COMPETENCES:

1.1 Identify the global significance of a clearly articulated oral message in familiar contexts.
2.2 Participate in everyday conversations about familiar topics.
3.2 Identify the global significance of a simple text about familiar topics.

LESSON
WARM – UP I greet the students. - to create a warm and T – Ss 5’

I will review the students’ acquisitions from the
previous lesson.
HOMEWORK CHECK Check each student's homework set in the last - to check the students’ T – Ss 5’
lesson. Ask each student some questions about their homework Ss – T
homework worksheet, give lots of praise, and then
put some kind of mark on the homework sheet (e.g.
a sticker, a stamp or draw a smiley face). Finally,
tell your students to put their homework back into
their bags.
EXERCISE ROUTINE I do the "Exercise Routine" activity. I will say the - to stir the students’ T – Ss 5’
following and have my students follow my lead: interest
"Stand up (teacher stands and so does everyone
else), "Hands up / hands down" (x 3-5), "Jump"
(x3-5), "Run! / Stop!" (x3-5), "Turn around! /
Stop!" (x3-5), finally "Sit down". Throughout the
course you can introduce other commands, such as
"Hop".
INTRODUCING THE Today your students are going to learn the words: - to present the new T – Ss 10’
VOCABULARY classroom, notebook, sharpener, ruler, board, chair. vocabulary Individual work
Before class, I print off enough flashcard
pictures of each of these words for each student in
your class as well as myself.
Start off by getting everyone sitting on the floor in
front of you. Hold up the table flashcard. Proceed
as follows:

Teacher: What's this? It's a table. Repeat "table".


Students: "Table" (repeat 3 times)
Teacher: Can you see a table in the classroom?
Point to the table.
Students: (Point to tables)
Teacher: Yes! Good job!
VOCABULARY I ask the students to open their textbook to page 21. - to practice the new T – Ss 15’
PRACTICE I tell the students to solve the ex. 3, 4. vocabulary Ss – Ss
For the next activity I provide my students with Pair work
worksheets.
I tell the students to work in pairs to solve the
exercises.
I will let the students work, then I check their
answers.
FEEDBACK I will ask questions based on today’s lesson. - to offer feedback T – Ss 3’
