Many people think that entrepreneurship is talent. Though talent does not really affect the
success of the business. To become an entrepreneur we need to learn certain skills needed
to run a business
b. The only requirement is a good idea
A good idea isn't everything. We must consider proper execution so that the idea can be
realized properly.
c. Starting new business guarantee freedom
Starting a business does not guarantee freedom for entrepreneurs. New business pioneers
often work harder to develop their businesses to win the competition in the market.

Creating a new company is not the fastest way to get rich. While many businesses are
successful and profitable, many businesses take longer to succeed.

The Entrepreneur' Characteristic from al-Qur’an and al-Hadis

a. Taqwa as a framework
Faith in Allah is highly emphasized in the characteristics of Muslim entrepreneurs. A good
Muslim entrepreneur will use the means of entrepreneurship to develop himself and carry
out the teachings of the prophet Muhammad SAW. Wilson mentions that trust can
encourage the effectiveness and competence of the company. Belief by the physical network
of Muslims against meta-rules such as sin and reward. This hatred provides the motivation
that enables religion to regulate the ethical structure in society. In Muslim countries, people
tend to be more fatalistic. Fatalism is the belief that they have no control over what happens
to them. This is evidenced by the words Insha Allah.
b. Halal as Priority
Halal is one of the standards in Islam that encourages Muslims to trade/consume unlawful
(unlawful) goods. The claim that religion has an important role in shaping the level of
entrepreneurial activity has been recognized by observers. In forming a halal life, Muslims
can become employees, work alone or employ other people. Even so, Islam tends to advise
people to become entrepreneurs. By becoming an entrepreneur, a Muslim can earn more
income to help the community and other Muslims. Entrepreneurship avoids dependence on
circumstances.
c. Do not waste
In Islamic teachings, waste is prohibited. The Prophet Muhammad forbade the use of
excessive ablution water, implying explicitly the bad use of excessive natural resources.
d. Worship to Allah is Priority
Sadeq argues that Islam not only provides incentives, but also a conducive framework for
the development of entrepreneurship.
e. Practicing High Moral Values
In the Qur'an Allah says:
Allah justifies buying and selling and forbids usury (Al-Baqarah)
The nabawiyah Sirah also explains the prophet's habit of avoiding usury in his trading
activities.
f. Trustworthy
Rasulullah SAW and his companions were trusted businessmen. He emphasized the
importance of entrepreneurship
g. Concern for the Welfare
One of how Islam pays attention to welfare is through zakat, where everyone is obliged to
give a percentage of an excess amount of wealth to those in need.
h. Knowledgeable
The first verse in the Quran emphasizes the importance of science in Islam. Prophet
Muhammad also encouraged his followers to obey. During the time of the Prophet
Muhammad, it was customary to share knowledge with knowledgeable companions. People
who have the habit of studying this later, play an important role in the entrepreneurial
community outside Saudi Arabia.
i. Caring for society and environment
Islam is a religion that really preserves the environment. Allah SWT said
But seek, with the (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on thee, the home of the Hereafter,
nor forget Thy portion In This world: but do Thou good, As Allah has been good to thee, and
seek not (occasions for) mischief In the land: for Allah loves not those who do mischief. (Al-
Qashash. 28: 77)[22].

During his life, prophet Muhammad also showed various forms of concern for others. Like
how the prophet Muhammad encouraged his ummah to care for older people. Prophet
Muhammad also mingled with young children, motivating them and exerting a positive
influence on children.
