2. TC8 diagnostic guidelines
The purpose of this paragraph is to explain the capabilities of the TC8 diagnostic framework.
It provides information about what are the graphical representation capabilities as well as how to use them and what should be the wording of
the various message fields.

The TC8 features a diagnostic screen that aims at representing the general status of the installation.
1. A general installation schematic that represents the main components of the system
2. A detailed view of the selected elements. This view is used to display several diagnostic messages associated to the selected
component.

Several types of messages are supported: error, warning, info, info wait. Each of them is represented by a color.

Type Color Description

error red One of the components prevent the system from weaving
warning orange An element deserves user’s attention but is not critical for weaving
info blue Information message
info wait blue Information message that notify the user that the TC8 is waiting for
an external event (it can be a user action, an initializing operation).
This type of messages prevents the installation from weaving.

For each component, the number of errors of each type is shown in a color circle as show below:
In this example there is 1 error message (red), 1 warning (orange) and 2 info or info wait messages (blue).
Note that info and info wait messages share the same color.

Jul-22 J11938300A Trouble Shooting JM on TC8 rev1 5/27

Here the detailed view:

Some of the messages may have an icon associated to it this is represented by on icon on the right of the message.
If no action is associated to the message, there is no icon.

Popup messages are represented with the icon while action windows are represented with the icon

The colour of the icon matches the colour of the message.

Messages can also have a progress bar associated to them. This is useful to represent the progression of a pending operation.
This situation is represented as below:

The technical mode button displays the low-level message. It can be used to help expert customers to diagnose the situation or to
provide additional information for Stäubli technicians or R&D.

3. Software compliance
All messages and pictures in this document are from the TC8 Application F39263200T or greater.

The user should be aware about “After Sales Notes” and “Trouble Shooting” on mystaubli (textile/Sales-Services Support)
The user should upgrade the TC8 software with the last version (link) and install the various R&D patches in progress as well.

4. Limitations
Scope is limited to JM equipped with NOEMI/SMC electronic boards.

5. Jacquard Message display principle
5.1 Main menu message
When an JM error occurs, the TC8 initiates the installation STOP, and a red message appears in the center of the TC8 main menu:

The message in the center of the TC8 main menu indicates the origin of the error:

Click on it and a new window appears with message details
