SHAREWARE: It is a type of software that is initially available for a certain time

limit. The general idea of using this software is “try before you buy.” This free-
trial enables users to fully understand the capabilities and flaws of the software
before buying it. The trial period could be of 30 days or less and contains only a
certain number of features. It gives us a chance to try out new software at no
cost. The users can also share the software during the trial period. After the trial
period the software gets deactivated by itself and users do not have access to it
after.

It is an Open Source software. This means users can make changes and
distribute the software and source code to anyone and for any purpose.

There are few threats to using this software.

As in free-trial the programs are not licensed and upgrades are not available, this
can put a system at risk.
Not using the software and being left it on a computer could lead to malicious
attacks.
Poorly managing of software can lead to leakage of sensitive data.
