passengers through sea routes.

seafarers contribute substantially by ensuring that this trade is
continuously performed as per schedule with minimum delays or
loss to cargo, life or environment.

and encourage more men and women into shipping.
► Focusing programs for all children, starting at age 10, will expand
our potential to bring more of the best and brightest young men
and women into an ever expanding range of challenging and
rewarding maritime and maritime related careers that will create
the leaders who will develop future maritime policies.
How it works?
► Adopt A Ship Orphanage Shelter Program [AaSOS] consists of
seafarer onboard, (usually the Captain) exchanging an email with
elementary school age children in a classroom, orphanage or
shelter, via their teacher once a week by email. The children
track the ship on a world map that is provided for FREE and ask
questions to the Seafarers, via their teacher. The program is
flexible. It can run throughout the year as most of the shelters
and orphanages are operational throughout the year. Some of
the children are given a pre and post test/survey. It can be a
“stand alone” program or incorporated into existing programs.
Most of the children are 10 to 12 years old, but that can vary.
