July 2020

Q. What changes are you making to Cisco DNA Subscriptions for SD-WAN and Routing?
There are two primary changes to Cisco DNA Subscriptions for SD-WAN and Routing:

1. Cisco DNA Essentials for SD-WAN and Routing

a. The 50 site limit on Cisco DNA Essentials for SD-WAN and Routing is removed. There will
be no site restriction on Essentials going forward.

b. The max data segments permitted is being changed from 1+1 to 2+1. 2+1 means that 2
VPNs can be user VPNs (e.g., Employee VPN and Guest VPN), plus the default management
VPN (the +1). So total VPNs are 2 User VPNs + 1 Management VPN.

2. The introduction of a new 15 Mb/s bandwidth tier

Q. What are the pricing effects of these changes?

The pricing effects are as follows:

1. Cisco DNA Essentials for SD-WAN and Routing

a. The price across all Cisco DNA Essentials bandwidths will increase ~15%

2. 15 Mb/s Bandwidth

© 2020 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. Page 9 of 27

FAQ: Published September 29, 2020
Cisco Internal Use Only

a. Cisco DNA Essentials - The price will be ~40% greater than current 10 Mb/s. This upcharge
reflects the both changes, namely, the bandwidth increase and the elimination of the 50
device overlay limit.

b. Cisco DNA Advantage & Cisco DNA Premier - The price will be ~20% greater than current
10M

Q. Why are these changes being made?

As the SD-WAN solution has evolved over the past few years, we constantly evaluate how to provide
the best value to customers considering the current market conditions. Based on our evaluation, we
believe our customers will be best served by making these changes.

1. Cisco DNA Essentials for SD-WAN and Routing

a. The feature changes being made to Cisco DNA Essentials for SD-WAN and Routing make
the product significantly more attractive.

2. 15 Mb/s Bandwidth

a. Cisco’s 10 Mb/s is being used to compare against competitor’s 30 Mb/s aggregate.

Creating a 15 Mb/s license allows us to create a fair compare license.

Q. When will these changes take effect?

The product and price changes for Cisco DNA Essentials for SD-WAN and Routing will take place
immediately. Availability of the 15 Mb/s bandwidth tier is expected in Q1 FY21.

Q. What are the effects on Enterprise Agreement pricing from these changes?
The Cisco DNA Essentials for SD-WAN and Routing price increase will have no effect on Enterprise
Agreements as Cisco DNA Essentials purchases are not eligible for inclusion in an Enterprise
Agreement.

The EA price for Advantage bandwidth Tier 0, which is currently listed at 10 Mb/s and leverages the 10
Mb/s transactional price, will now enjoy 15 Mb/s of bandwidth, but remain at the 10 Mb/s transactional
price!

Q. What are the effects on MSLA pricing from these changes?

As MSLA pricing is tied to transactional pricing, the MSLA PID pricing will also change accordingly.

Q. What about existing customers, will they be charged these increased prices?
No. Existing customers will continue to pay their current agreed upon rates until their licenses come up
for renewal.

Q. Does Cisco now support mixed tier deployments between Cisco DNA Essentials and Cisco DNA
Advantage for SD-WAN and Routing? This was previously not permitted.

Yes. However, the feature set will be determined by existence of Cisco DNA Essentials in the
deployment.

FAQ: Published September 29, 2020
Cisco Internal Use Only

Q. My customer bought Cisco DNA Essentials prior to these changes. Can they now go beyond the 50 site
limit and the 1+1 VPN?

No. All Cisco DNA Essentials purchases concluded prior to this change are still subject to the 50 device
and the 1+1 VPN limitations.

May 2020

Q. What are the price changes being made?

The Cisco DNA Advantage prices are being reduced by approximately 25% across the 50M bandwidth
tier for both a- la-carte (transactional) pricing as a well as for MSLA-U and MSLA-C

Q. When will the price changes take effect?

The price change will take effect starting May 2, 2020 (Q4, FY20)

Q. What PIDs are being affected?

The following table shows the PIDs that are being changed and their old and new prices:

Q. Why were the prices changed?

The prices were changed as a result of a competitive strategy review. As a result, we evaluated the
price gaps with our competitors and we believe that this price change will help us be more
competitive.

Q. Will EAs be affected by this price change?

No, EA prices will stay the same, i.e., there will be no effect of the price change on EA offers.

Q. Are there any packaging or license changes associated with these price changes?
No, the change is restricted just to prices and there is no impact on the way Cisco DNA Advantage is
packaged or licensed.

FAQ: Published September 29, 2020
Cisco Internal Use Only

Purchasing Cisco DNA for SD-WAN and Routing

Q. How does a customer choose an optimal SD-WAN and Routing solution?
The customer can consider these five steps:

● Step 1: Identify the use case

● Step 2: Select the bandwidth
● Step 3: Pick the license term
● Step 4: Choose on-premises or cloud managed
● Step 5: Determine platform for future scale

Q. What subscription licensing terms are available?

Today we offer 3-, 5-, and 7-year term options.

Q. Can the customer migrate from on-premises to cloud management and vice versa on an SD-WAN and
Routing deployment?

Yes. With these subscription offers, customer choice and flexibility are paramount. Whether the current
environment is based on Cisco IOS XE or vEdge, cloud- or on-premises managed, the customer can
choose from three simple subscription tiers based on the use cases. If the customer chooses to move
from on-premises management to cloud management, they can easily do that at no additional cost.

Q. Why would a customer choose vManage vs. Cisco DNA Center?

Customers who are on the journey to intent-based networking with SD-WAN will select Cisco
vManage. For customers who have Cisco switching and wireless environments and want on-premises
management for traditional routing deployment, Cisco DNA Center is the solution.

Q. If a customer wants to buy Cisco DNA Premier, do they have to buy Cisco DNA Advantage and/or
Cisco DNA Essentials?

No. The subscription offers are nested SKUs. Cisco DNA Advantage includes Cisco DNA Essentials.
Cisco DNA Premier includes Cisco DNA Advantage (which includes Cisco DNA Essentials).

Q. What is my license entitlement for Cisco Threat Grid?

The SD-WAN and Routing Premier subscription tier provides a fixed entitlement of 200 files per day
per customer account to be sent to Threat Grid cloud for sandboxing (File Behavior Analysis). This is a
global entitlement per customer account regardless of the number of Cisco DNA Premier licenses
purchased. Additional Cisco Threat Grid licenses can be purchased separately.

Q. Is my Cisco Threat Grid entitlement on-premises based?

The Cisco Threat Grid entitlement is purely cloud based. An on-premises Cisco Threat Grid entitlement
is not available with a Cisco DNA Premier subscription.

FAQ: Published September 29, 2020
Cisco Internal Use Only

Q. Is the Cisco DNA bandwidth tier restriction applicable to both traditional routing and SD-WAN
deployments?

Yes. The Cisco DNA bandwidth tier restriction is applicable to both traditional routing (traditional IOS-
XE) and the SD-WAN Cisco DNA stack.

Q. How can a customer co-term licenses?

Full co-terming is available to customers if they sign a Cisco Enterprise Agreement (EA). Outside of an
EA, customers can co-term as long as they meet the 3-year minimum. For example, if the customer
purchased a 5-year Cisco DNA subscription in 2019 (so ending in 2024), in 2020 they can co-term a
new subscription to also end in 2024. However, they cannot purchase a subscription in 2022 and make
it end in 2024, because in 2022 only two years are left. With an EA, customers won’t have such
restrictions.

Q. What hardware platforms are supported by on-premises-management vs. cloud-management offers?

Today, customers can choose Cisco DNA Essentials, Cisco DNA Advantage, or Cisco DNA Premier for
either on-premises management or cloud management.

For on-premises-management use cases, the offers support the ASR 1000, ISR 1000 and 4000, CSR
1000V, the Cisco Catalyst 8300 and 8500 series platforms, and ENCS 5000 hardware, and are
managed through Cisco DNA Center.

For SD-WAN use cases, the offers support the vEdge series, ASR 1000, ISR 1000 and 4000, CSR
1000V, the Cisco Catalyst 8300 and 8500 series platforms, and ENCS 5000.

For a specific product ID, please refer to the ordering guide.

Q. Is Cisco DNA Essentials available on ASR 1000?

No. Only Cisco DNA Advantage and Cisco DNA Premier are supported on ASR 1000.

Q. Is the software packaging on the Cisco Catalyst 8300 and Cisco Catalyst 8500 Series Platforms Right-

Cisco Internal Use Only

Q. If a customer stops paying for their subscription software license, does the network stop working?
For traditional environments (on-premises vs. cloud management), upon subscription expiration with
no renewal, customers will still be able to use base routing features using CLI. However, customers will
not be able to use the WAN management and control capabilities of Cisco DNA Center.

For SD-WAN environments (vManage), upon subscription expiration with no renewal, WAN
management functions will no longer operate. Customers must renew their subscription-based
licenses to continue to get access.

Q. What happens if a hardware product reaches its “end of support” during an active software
subscription period?

Both hardware and software have their own release and support cycle, independent of each other. If
the customer has an active software subscription while the underlying hardware goes out of support,
then customer can move the subscription to a new hardware platform.

Cisco ONE Migration

Q. Are there additional ways for existing Cisco ONE perpetual customers to get Cisco DNA subscription
offers?

We are making it easier for our existing Cisco ONE customers get on the path of Cisco DNA
innovations. In addition to the credits above for Cisco DNA Advantage or Cisco DNA Premier, existing
Cisco ONE customers will automatically get Cisco DNA Essentials at the time of SWSS renewal. This
Cisco DNA software will include SWSS benefits for the perpetual and subscription offers in addition to
the Cisco DNA innovations. At a cost equivalent to that for SWSS renewal, customers can get the
benefits of Cisco DNA Essentials (with SWSS included). These will be available as 1-, 3-, 5-, or 7-year
terms. Customers will also retain their perpetual licenses.

Q. What is the bandwidth restriction for Cisco ONE customers moving to a subscription offer?
Bandwidth is limited by the platform of choice for customers using a perpetual Cisco ONE license. If the
customer decides to move to SD-WAN deployment, the bandwidth is tied to the Cisco DNA
subscription.

Q. What are the bandwidth entitlements as part of a Cisco ONE migration to Cisco DNA via a SWSS
renewal?

See the chart below for the details:

Platform Bandwidth

ISR 1000 Series, ISR 4221 10 M

ISR 4321 25 M

ISR 4331 50 M

ISR 4351 100 M

ISR 4431 250 M

FAQ: Published September 29, 2020
Cisco Internal Use Only

Q. What happens if a customer buys one bandwidth tier in an EA (for example, Tier 1 entitles up to 100
Mb/s), but consumes more than what they are entitled to?

Any sustained over-consumption is captured at the annual True-Forward event, and additional charges
would apply if the consumption exceeds their entitlement. Over-consumption in bursts for a short
period of time will not trigger True-Forward charges.

Q. How does an EA customer upgrade from one bandwidth tier to another?

An EA customer may consume more than their entitled bandwidth (for example, 100 Mb/s with Tier 1),
but additional charges would apply if the consumption exceeds their entitlement at the annual True-
Forward event.

Q. Customer currently has a Viptela® EA. How can they migrate to Cisco EA?
At the time of Viptela EA renewal, customers EA will be cut-over to Cisco EA with Cisco DNA offer.

Cisco Managed Service Licensing Agreement (MSLA)

Q. How can an MSP get a Managed Services License Agreement (MSLA)?
MSLA requires contract signature. For MSPs that purchase direct from Cisco, it requires an amendment
to the Systems Integrator Agreement (SIA), Infrastructure Agreement or other direct purchasing
vehicle. Deals through MSLA authorized resale partners / distributors require that the MSP sign an
MSLA with their preferred authorized partner or distributor. If an MSP has an existing MSLA agreement,
they may simply sign the product term sheet for SD-WAN to add to their existing MSLA.

Q. Where can I get more information about Cisco’s MSLA program?

Here are several options to obtain more information.

• Dedicated MSLA hub on SalesConnect: https://salesconnect.cisco.com/open.html?h=PAGE-6015

• Send an email to the MSLA e-mail alias: ask_msla@cisco.com

• Join the MSLA Team Space: https://eurl.io/#ryKsCvaLE

Cisco Smart Accounts and Smart Licensing

Q. What is a Smart License and why should I care?
Smart Licensing is a new, flexible software-licensing model that simplifies the way customers activate
and manage licenses across their organization. Instead of using Product Activation Keys (PAKs), Smart
Licenses establish a pool of software licenses in a customer-defined Smart Account that can be used
throughout the enterprise.

Q. What are Smart Accounts? Why should I care?

Smart Accounts are mandatory for any subscription. They help identify and connect the right customer
account into which the subscription licenses purchased by the customer will be deposited before they
may be used. The combination of Smart Licensing and Smart Accounts delivers visibility into your
license ownership and consumption (through a cloud portal) to help you reduce operational costs.
Smart License is used with Cisco DNA Center.

Q. What software products offer Smart Account and Smart License capabilities?
All ISR 1000 series, ISR 4000 series, ASR 1000 series, Cisco Catalyst 8300 and 8500 series platforms,
and the virtual routers of the CSR 1000V and ISRV series include support for Smart Accounts and
Licensing. The vEdge products (including the cloud versions) will support Smart Licensing in upcoming
versions of the software.

Q. How do I view and use a Smart License?

License availability and consumption through a Smart License are visible through a portal called Cisco
Smart Software Manager (CSSM). All licenses that are deposited and consumed are clearly visible
through the user ID and password provided for the Smart or virtual account for each customer.

Q. Where can I learn more about Cisco Smart Software Licensing and Smart Accounts?
