About Road 2 Mecca

Background

Hajj is the 5th pillar of Islam for Muslims who are able to carry it out. From time to time since
the pilgrimage was prescribed in the time of Prophet Ibrahim Alaihi salam about 4,000 years
ago, believers from all over the world have flocked to Mecca – Saudi Arabia.

Every era has its own hajj challenges, for this era when telecommunications and transportation
are so advanced, the challenge is how to manage the very high interest in hajj from Muslims.
Currently in the world there are about 2 billion Muslims, if only 1% go for Hajj every year, then
there should be a capacity for Hajj up to 20 million people. The fact is that currently the
capacity of the hajj is only around 2 -3 million people, so it becomes a challenge for the various
parties involved to be able to serve as servants for the implementation of the 5th pillar of Islam.

For example, in Indonesia, which is the largest Muslim community in the world, gathered in one
country. Of the approximately 240 million Muslim population, the annual quota for Hajj is only
around 250,000 or 0.1% of the total Muslim population. As a result, queues to be able to go for
Hajj in a number of areas have reached more than 90 years. Even in the capital of this country,
the Hajj queue is more than 50 years of waiting period! This means that there is very little
chance for Muslims, even in a country where the majority of the population is Muslim, to be
able to go for Hajj at a time when they can afford it.

Apart from the quota issue, a number of other problems also become obstacles. The main thing
is the problem of transportation, even if Indonesia gets the appropriate quota of around 2.4
million hajj a year – so that there are no queues, then sends 2.4 million people in
the same pilgrimage season is also nearly impossible. It takes 160 flights every day with an
aircraft capacity of 500 passengers. Both the destination and departure airports will require a
tremendous increase in capacity to accommodate these needs.

The problem that is no less serious when the world has agreed to go towards Net-Zero Emission
2050 is the issue of carbon emissions. Currently, each pilgrim from Indonesia emits carbon
emissions of around 2.5 tons per pilgrim. With a quota of 250,000, the annual emission from
this pilgrimage is already 625,000 tons of CO2. If the capacity is increased to 2.4 million people,
the emission contamination from the Hajj pilgrimage from Indonesia could reach 6 million tons
of CO2 emissions per year.

The problem that is no less important is the loss of economic opportunities from this
extraordinary hajj activity. It is indicated in the Qur'an that the pilgrimage brings benefits in this
world and the hereafter for those who do it (Surah 22:27-28), and this has been going on for
thousands of years. It is only in the last few decades that Pilgrims from all over the world have
lost their worldly benefits. All hajj supporting infrastructure such as planes, fuel, food, clothing
for ikhram and so on are generally supplied by people outside of Islam, while the Muslim hajj
pilgrims only serve as a market.

These problems need solutions that are truly out of the box, because if with mediocre solutions
or without solutions, then with a queue of 50-90 years to be able to make Hajj for Indonesian
Muslims - will make the 5th pillar of Islam is becomes very small chance to be implemented
even by those who can afford it.

Solutions That Fit the Times

When information technology is so advanced, the internet is moving from the present to the
next level with digital twin technology, web3, blockchain, metaverse etc. we will actually be
able to manage the pilgrimage more accurately and reliably. This does not mean that the
physical pilgrimage must be replaced with virtual one, but the virtual world can be used to
assist in planning, simulating, managing transactions and so on so that the capacity for Hajj can
increase drastically even though the physical facilities remain relatively the same.

The use of metaverse, for example, will allow for hajj trips by land to be accurately simulated,
so that when converted to the real world via digital twins, hajj trips by land can be safe, low in
emissions, and double the capacity of hajj services both in terms of transportation and
hotel/lodging needs during their stay in Mecca and Medina.

Metaverse itself is essentially an advanced virtual world, users don't just read text, view videos
or make video calls, but users can be 'involved' directly and virtually in an interactive activity.
This metaverse can be connected directly to the real world through digital twin technology. A
number of other technologies that support the reliability of this metaverse include blockchain,
NFT, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Web3 and so on.

The majority of pilgrims, which so far have taken about 40 days, are mostly used to wait for the
flight schedule, because the Hajj itself only takes a few days. With road travel, this waiting time
is shifted, no longer in the hotel or lodge but in the vehicle.

Hajj by land if planned carefully, complete with the provision of carbon neutral fuel – then the
round trip pilgrimage of up to 24,000 km for Indonesian pilgrims, for example, can be made
carbon neutral with Bio-Gasoline G100 or Green-Diesel D100. These types of fuels can be
produced by local people in countries through which caravans travel for Hajj.

Thus, the impact of this pilgrimage will cause multiplier effects in the form of very high
economic cycles in the countries involved in sending the pilgrims, the destination country for
the pilgrimage, namely Saudi Arabia or just the country where the caravans of Muslims who are
on pilgrimage will pass.

In addition to providing economic effects along the way, when the Muslims of the Hajj pilgrims
have gathered around the Masjidil Haram, they can also conduct trade with each other so that
the benefits of this pilgrimage are not only good for the hereafter of the perpetrators, but also
the worldly benefits hinted at in QS. 2: 27-28 mentioned above. It is not limited to trade alone,
all forms of services needed for the smooth running of this pilgrimage become very broad
benefits for the performers.

Although the planning and simulation are carried out through cyberspace, all aspects of the
pillars of Hajj that are in accordance with sharia must be carried out physically must be carried
out physically. With accurate and efficient management through planning, simulation and
transactions in the metaverse, problems related to quotas, transportation, emission reductions
and economic opportunities are solved in cyberspace but are implemented in the real world.

The illustration of the metaverse ecosystem for Road 2 Mecca can be seen in the following
image:
The Objectives

The objectives of building Road 2 Mecca's Metaverse infrastructure include:

Education

Right now we are being tested by Allah with how difficult it is to go for Hajj until someone has
to queue for more than 90 years, so that we think hard to find a solution. And so that we live up
to the commandment to go for Hajj which was hinted by Allah from the beginning that people
should strive to be able to carry it out by walking and riding thin camels from all over the world
(Qur'an 2:27).

Hajj is the 5th pillar of Islam for those who are able to carry it out, so all Muslims must try their
best to get to Mecca to carry out this pilgrimage. Even Hajj also strengthens the lesson of the
last day when humans are gathered by Allah, Arafah is a miniature of the gathering of humans
on the last day.

We must teach the hard journey of Hajj to every generation because towards the end of time
when Imam Mahdi descends, Muslims must pledge allegiance to him even though they have to
crawl on snow hills (Hadith Ibn Majjah no 4222). How will they recognize the road to Mecca if
we do not provide a lesson from now on.

So Metaverse Road 2 Mecca, apart from teaching the wisdom of the shari'a for Hajj which is the
5th pillar of Islam, it also strengthens faith in the last days which is also the 5th pillar of faith.

Simulation and Planning

The metaverse technology that we used to build Road 2 Mecca is connected directly to the real
world through a technology called digital twin. Whatever exist in the real world could be
represented in the metaverse world, and vice versa – what we build in the metaverse world can
be actualized into the real world.

Therefore the metaverse will be a very detailed, effective and efficient planning tool to
structure the painstaking Hajj journey with various simulations and possible options. Just as the
journey to space requires astronauts to spend thousands of hours in a simulation room, so the
pilgrims by land need in-depth simulations so that each challenge can be overcome as much as
possible before he actually starts his journey.
Resource Management

There are a lot of resources that need effective management for the success of this road trip to
Mecca. Starting from the reliability of the vehicle to be used and the availability of sufficient
green fuels throughout the journey to and from home, the medium of exchange for trade along
the way because buying and selling is definitely needed for all travel needs, shelter homes,
fulfilling food and drink needs, guides at each stage of the journey, health services, legal
assistance for the arrangement of hajj visas and visas for all countries traversed, security
support because not all areas to be traversed are safe, diplomatic assistance when needed to
deal with serious travel problems, and also assistance for emergency conditions.

All these resources must be neatly organized before the trip begins to minimize the risk of the
trip and maximize the effort to carry out the journey to fulfill this 5th pillar of Islam.

Lita'arofu Wa Liyashaduu Manafi'a Lahum

Humans were created into nations and tribes by Allah with the aim of knowing and mutual
interactions for each other - lita'arofu (Qur'an 49:13), from knowing each other this then
happened muamalah between nations. Unfortunately, in the current hajj system, the
opportunities for lita'arofu are limited because the majority of hajj pilgrims are on planes and
staying in hotels inhabited by only one nation.

By traveling tens of thousands of kilometers overland, an intensive acquaintance with each

region and the people of the countries traversed automatically takes place. From here, there is
also a mutually beneficial muamalah interaction for the pilgrims who do this pilgrimage as well
as for the local community who can take advantage of this opportunity to circulate the
economy in their area.

From here, mutual benefit will emerge, liyashadu manafi'a lahum (Surah 22:27) – trade
between nations will expand, in such a way that while traveling for Hajj it is possible and indeed
permissible to trade while in hajj journey (Qur'an 2:198).

With the support of Road 2 Mecca metaverse, the process of knowing each other and providing
benefits is accelerated during the Hajj journey - that is, when people focus on sharing with each
other in their journey and preparation, and can continue to take place outside the context of
their own Hajj journey. Road 2 Mecca can be a catalyst for intensive trade between Muslims
through the virtual world that is integrated directly with the real world through digital twins.

Keeping Intentions and Maximizing Effort

The queues of pilgrims in Indonesia are too long and some are more than 90 years waiting
period, it is feared that the intention of Muslims will decrease from the implementation of the
fifth pillar of Islam. So the effort to present the option of hajj travel by land opens up
opportunities for other ways to carry out the pilgrimage.

This option will open a new spirit and re-strengthen the people's intention to enthusiastically
carry out the 5th pillar of Islam. This endeavor is of course also full of challenges, but at least
with this there will be an effort that will allow some pilgrims to go on pilgrimage faster. The
existence of this endeavor will certainly be better than just waiting for the Hajj quota to arrive
with an unreasonable waiting time - more than half a century in the future.

Road 2 Mecca Metaverse

Muamalah

The pilgrimage is a worship that cannot be separated from muamalah between congregations,
this is what has happened for thousands of years people come to Mecca to worship while also
doing trade to meet the needs during the pilgrimage and for the families left behind. In the
Qur'an, even this is permitted by Allah through QS 22: 28 and QS 2: 198.

So there are two types of transactions in the Road 2 Mecca ecosystem, these two transactions
follow the guidelines of the Qur'an, namely: "...Allah has permitted buying and selling and
forbids usury." (QS 2:275) , and "...Allah destroys usury and promote alms…” (Quran 2:276).

Included in the buying and selling category are the rental of metaverse land in Road 2 Mecca,
payment of wages for doing something, buying and selling real goods, buying and selling digital
goods, renting digital assets, etc.

The charity category includes donations, infaq, waqf and the like which are used for public
infrastructure such as server fees, general application development such as providing virtual
roads from all over the world to Mecca, building mosques, madrasas, health facilities etc. both
virtual and real.

Muamalah Model in the Road 2 Mecca Ecosystem

Road 2 Mecca is a metaverse platform that provides digital land in the form of Non-Fungible
Tokens (NFT) covering the surface of the earth, because any place on earth can be a road to
Mecca. So what is provided by the administrator of Road 2 Mecca is originally the land. Every
place on earth is then mapped relative to coordinates 0.0 which is the location of the Kaaba in
Mecca.
For example, the Masjidil Haram whose real-world coordinates are (21,43684; 39.82436) on
Road 2 Mecca Metaverse becomes (0.00000; 0.00000), then the Indonesian national
monument in Jakarta with real-world coordinates (-6.17102; 106.82872) will be the coordinates
of virtual world in Road 2 Mecca metaverse (-27.60786; 67.00436).

Lands with a radius greater than 0.00100 from the virtual Masjidil Haram, are areas that users
of Road 2 Mecca's services will be able to explore, no exception to any area in the Masjidil
Haram in Mecca, not on your way anymore.

There are two categories of users in this Road 2

Mecca ecosystem. The first is tenants, namely
users who rent a place on any earth from this
Road 2 Mecca earth and use it to serve their
ultimate users both commercially and socially.
The place rented by this tenant becomes a
digital asset in the form of NFT, which is a virtual
land with the appropriate (x,y) coordinates.

These tenants can work together with profit

sharing with the platform manager to develop
the area that is the target of development. For
example, you can rent in the area (-
0.00100;0.00100) – the ring 1 of the Masjidil
Haram to the southeast to make a trade center,
so you can sell anything in this place by building the building itself, the outlets, etc. It is from
the place that you build that your assets will grow from trading or buying and selling in it, not
from investment.

Your income is the margin of sale and purchase that you trade on your NFT land lease, while
your costs are the cost of renting the NFT land and its development costs.

Because almost all users of this system will go to Mecca, the position of ring-1 which will be
visited by the most people, your mall or trade center can even be seen directly in the
background when people visit the metaverse of the Masjidil Haram - which is a public facility in
this system. The value of the rental location will vary from year to year depending on the
growth of visitors and existing trading activities.

By concentrating visitors, trade centers that are close to each other will also benefit from the
number of visitors in the zone concerned. However, this does not mean that other areas are
less attractive, the potential of other areas is no less attractive.

Areas in Tibet, Pakistan, deserts along the Arabian peninsula and so on, namely areas that must
be traversed by pilgrims by land from Indonesia, for example, will have the potential to
simulate real land routes. Likewise, the Sahara desert from Morocco to Egypt will be an
attraction for simulating a desert journey from the Maghreb lands to Mecca.

In essence, the value of your digital assets in Road 2 Mecca really depends on the attractiveness
of the content you create in it. Content can be in the form of videos, simulation scripts or the
complete metaverse world, etc. Of course, you can also make it outside the Road 2 Mecca
ecosystem, but through this ecosystem you will benefit because it will form a community that
will enliven your site from visitors to other sites that are close to each other or related.

What if you need help developing the plot you have rented at Road 2 Mecca? We will provide a
team that you can hire to build your plot into an attractive site that suits your passions.

Benefits of Metaverse for Hajj Pilgrims

It's the same with the internet, when it was just starting to enter Indonesia 30 years ago, at that
time only computer enthusiasts could understand and use it. Likewise with the metaverse,
initially too complex for ordinary people to understand and use, but over time – in just 2-5
years to come, ordinary people will use the metaverse as you would use a web application or
the like now.

Even those of you who join the Road 2 Mecca community from the general public can take
advantage of this metaverse already, to make it easier for you to carry out your worship.
helping to prepare everything, including the road trip if needed and also the benefit of getting
to know other people in this community globally – so you can join in trading around the Masjidil
Haram as in the past the pilgrims could trade with each other there.

It is even possible for beginners on this road trip to get sponsors or donations from other
participants who for one reason or another really want to go but have not been able to go.
Through this metaverse, those who really go and who help them in terms of costs, facilities and
infrastructure will get the same reward, God willing,

In addition to the reward for the land of the hereafter, the goodness of the world can also be
shared. Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) from Hajj road trips facilitated by Road 2 Mecca's simulation
can be distributed not only to travelers but also to sponsoring parties.

Muamalah Transactions

Like the previous versions of the internet, which can be used for any trade, in the metaverse
world, this object of trading or alms can be enriched even more to be as close as possible to the
real world.
Selling Muslim clothing for example, in the real world you only see if the clothing you want to
buy is weared by someone else, in the metaverse world - you can 'try on' the clothes you are
going to buy directly. Likewise, when you watch other people's road trips through videos on the
internet today (youtube for example), it will be different if you are directly 'involved' in the
journey itself - even if virtually.

So just like an astronaut about to fly into outer space that has never been touched by humans,
he will try in a simulator for thousands of hours – until he is sure the journey will pay off. Thus
your road trip to Mecca, it is through this metaverse that everything is planned, tested,
simulated and prepared – so that when it's time you actually do it in the real world – the risk of
the trip is minimized and the success rate is maximized.

So what can be the object of transactions in Road 2 Mecca can be anything you can imagine to
complete your good intentions to go to the holy land in a different way. Starting from the
affairs of the Hajj visa, Hajj advisor, transportation, fuel, legal and security administration,
emergency assistance, etc.

Even with the best of provisions, namely piety, God willing, you will be able to make Hajj while
trading with the world community since you are still in the simulation, so that when it's time
you are on a real journey – already formed from the beginning, trade routes and partners in
foreign countries, i.e. from people you meet along the way or around the Masjidil Haram in the
metaverse.

Medium of Exchange

The medium of exchange in the metaverse world in general is crypto money, but because
existing cryptocurrencies generally tend to be gharrar (speculative) and even close to maisir
(gambling), the crypto money used in transactions in the Road 2 Mecca ecosystem is in the
form of Road 2 Mecca Tokens (RMT), whose unit value refers to gold.

Gold here is only a unit of account – a fair unit of account or balance or a price measuring tool,
your own assets are not stored in gold – Your assets in this virtual world are digital assets in the
form of videos, simulations, NFT virtual land that you rent etc. Your profit is not from storing
gold coins or RMT tokens and waiting for the gold price to fluctuate, but from the turnover of
merchandise or services that you manage.

These tokens act like coins used in the game world in general. To enter the ecosystem and
transact on Road 2 Mecca you exchange your money in any form, whether fiat money from
your respective country to a form of crypto money that is commonly traded, the crypto money
you transfer to Road 2 Mecca is then recorded in RMT tokens for a period of time whilst you are
in the Road 2 Mecca ecosystem for transactions, then after you finish or exit the system, your
RTM is exchanged back to the cryptocurrency you choose according to the current price of exit.
For value stability while in the Road 2 Mecca ecosystem, 1 unit of RTM token is equivalent to
1/100 gram of gold or 1 centigram - currently its value is around IDR 10,000. The smallest unit is
RTM 0.0001 or 1 microgram, which is currently equivalent to Rp. 1,-. The price of buying and
selling from or to other currency from time to time of course follows the development of world
gold prices.

Because gold is only used as a unit of account, no physical gold reserves or withdrawals are
provided. Withdrawals only to cryptocurrencies that are recognized in this system, namely
crypto money that is considered relatively safe, or in the form of assets that are yours –
whether in the form of digital assets or physical assets that are traded or used in this Road 2
Mecca ecosystem.

Because Road 2 Mecca is not a financial ecosystem but an ecosystem of buying, selling and
alms, infaq and waqf, then payment management, exchange between types of currency,
wallets etc. contracted out to third parties who have the appropriate competence or license
from the relevant authorities in the user's respective country.

Architecture

Road 2 Mecca architecture consists of three layers, namely consensus layer, content or tenant
layer and user layer.
Consensus Layer

The consensus layer is an NFT in the form of a smart contract that contains data on tenants, the
products or services offered, the coordinates of the virtual land being leased and references to
files for the products or services offered. The coordinates of the virtual land are rented by
tenants with RMT tokens, and after the transaction is complete the RMT is out of the system
and replaced with assets in the form of a plot of land that is ready to be managed by the
tenant, the consensus layer itself is managed by the administrator of Road 2 Mecca.

Tenant or Content Layer

Content or tenant layer is a tenant domain to manage its products in serving its clients. For paid
products, at this layer tenants also manage payments from their clients by receiving RMT
equivalent payment, which is exchanged for products in the form of goods or services.
Payments from users to tenants can be made with any money, including cryptocurrencies
whose wallets are managed by a competent and officially licensed third party in the user's
country, only the unit for evaluating goods and services uses a scale in the form of real-time
global gold prices.

The Client Layer

The client layer is where the client interacts with the services provided by the tenants, makes
payments, receives files or other services from the tenants. In this layer, clients can interact not
only with tenants but also with fellow users. From here, the Road 2 Mecca community will be
formed globally, because they can meet virtually in trade centers, on trips etc.

Through this three-layer arrangement, congregations will be formed who know each other and
conduct trade interactions with each other without being limited by physical space and time
constraints, both before, during and after they travel to Mecca, both virtual and physical.

The gathering of users in one location can be drawn using the attraction of the object of
greatest interest, for example for Mecca itself, the attraction is in the form of the Masjidil
Haram and the Kaaba in it. But entering this area is only limited to Muslims who can get there,
therefore even in the metaverse system there is a limit on the forbidden land.

Non-Muslims who reach the limit of the forbidden land have two choices, namely turning back
and forth from the forbidden land or choosing to enter by saying the sentence of shahada.

In this Road 2 Mecca ecosystem, it is not only the Masjidil Haram and its Kaaba that can be the
center of attraction, it can be in the form of areas that are difficult to pass, national boundaries
that are in fact difficult to penetrate, arid deserts in the Arabian peninsula and Africa, locations
of beautiful scenery throughout the roads that the pilgrims of this Road 2 Mecca and so on.

Even the attraction is not limited to location coordinates, but also related to products in the
form of goods, services or events. Fuel for example, will be needed in every trip, as well as for
the appropriate type of vehicle. In terms of services, Umrah visa arrangements, travel
instructions or local guides, etc. will always be an attraction in this Road 2 Mecca ecosystem.
Event this entire journey to Mecca can be an attraction to be followed virtually, supported
morally and materially by being sponsored and so on. InshaAllah.
