 RULES
All the participants are required to carry their own writing and drawing
tools and exam board (one for a team). Participants shall be directed to
the crime scene once they get acquainted with the plot.
Each team comprising three participants shall be given maximum of 8
minutes to investigate the crime scene and jot down relevant points.
Teams can make rough sketches or graphs for their convenience during
this time, Participants can analyze the crime scene and physical evidence
by observing. Each team shall be required to record the observation in a
given sheet and submit the investigation report. The Organizing
Committee will provide Reporting Sheets. Each team shall be required
to hypothesize the best possible story behind the incident and conclude
the guilt of the suspect/s.
Mishandling/Disturbing the crime scene property or communication
with participants of other teams during the competition shall lead to
disqualification. Participants are not allowed to touch or pick anything
from the crime scene.
(Participants should strictly adhere to this rule)
The report must include:
Crime scene sketch with the labeling of relevant evidence
List of material evidence found
A brief note about the relevancy of each material evidence
Hypotheses of guilt of Suspect/s
Reasons on which such hypothesis is based
Conclusive story (In your opinion)
Forensic analysis will play a key role
Other observations and analysis as it seems to be relevant.
Each team shall be given 30 minutes time for report
writing after the completion of investigation and
observation by the respective teams.
Each team is permitted to carry only one Mobile
phone equipped with camera to the venue of crime
scene.
The Mobile Phone should not contain a SIM Card.
Mobile phones can be used only for taking
photographs of the crime scene (Videography is strictly
prohibited) .
Any other use of Mobile phone shall lead to
immediate disqualification of the team.
A minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 pictures/sketches
can be submitted by each team.
Pictures/sketches related to the report shall be
considered only if the report mentions the material so
submitted.
Further guidelines will be intimated on the day of the
event.
Results will be declared after evaluation of the reports
by experts.
ACCOMODATION
Based on availability, paid accommadation may be
provided at request. Partcipants are required to inform
15 days prior.
