Dialogue with Yana and Vlada

Y: Hi, girlies!
N: Hey!
Vl: Hey! How are you doing? University treating you well?
Y: Not really, I got expelled.
N: Nooo!
Y: Yeah…
Vl: That sucks.
N: And how are you, Vlada?
Vl: Uhh, I’m so mad at the way teachers treat us. They literally want us to treat
them with respect and understanding while they don’t do the same to us, like at all.
They would be like, “We are the best at everything we know and do, and you’re
nothing”.
N: What do you mean?
V: Take these group projects. I have nothing against them as long as they are
maybe twice per semester. Students simply don’t have time and enthusiasm for
that. They’re studying, working, have basically no free time and they want us to
cooperate every now and then along with passing them with flying colours. When
it’s once per month or two, fine, we can work it out: find time in our schedules,
find great material and recourses. However when they give such assignments for a
few days, it’s inconsiderate toward students and teachers themselves.
Y: Considering the fact that teachers now like to claim how they are for having
more free time for physical AND mental health wellness and stability, they suck at
accomplishing this.
N: If it was up to us to create a perfect university, we would definitely have no
such assignments and that much homework.
Y: For the amount of work that we do, we should be paid as much as a usual
employee, or least minimum wage. And I’m not even talking about spent nerve
cells that, may I remind you, don’t renew themselves.
Vl: I love verbally bully our education system, there’s one thing that I actually like.
N: You’re kidding me?
Vl: Nah. Think about how great optional subjects are. You get to choose what you
would like to study, what can be interesting and useful for you. You can consider it
the first step on the path of your potential future career.
Y: I would add this thing to my perfect university as well.
N: You know I always think about how nice it would be to have more young
teachers.
Y: Yes. You can be not that shy to speak with them about anything. Moreover you
can somewhat relate to them and they can do the same. Imagine that you might
also party with them after classes.
Vl: We can have many great ideas, but it’s much harder to accomplish them. We
believe that the best university is the one that gives you all the necessary
knowledge and skills for your future job.
