1 Introduction
The VNP CMP Satellite module power-up procedure describes the tests required prior to
the VNP chassis assembly. The tests include pre-power assembly check, and power-up
voltage verification.
The pre-power assembly check (Section 2) and the power-up voltage check (Section 3)
can be performed using a standard calibrated multimeter.
3 Power-up Verification
The power-up verification is a voltage measurement at all power locations indicated in
Table 2 and shown in Section 4. The CMP module is not “hot swappable”; therefore,
make sure the test fixture is powered off when installing or removing the CMP module
from the test fixture.
Verify that the external Power Supply is off. Connect the Test Fixture power cable to the
external Power Supply. Install the CMP Module into the test chassis/fixture. If the CMP
module does not easily install into the test fixture do not assert force (i.e. – substantial
force should not be required to install the CMP module into the test fixture). Once the
CMP module has been successfully installed into the test fixture turn on the fixture power
source.
After the test is completed turn off the +12V input power before removing the CMP
module from the test fixture.
