Even when japan surrendered and grants Philippines its independence after the US defended the
country, the damage is already so big where thousands of people died and the economy is already
destroyed.
In my own perspective if the US did not defend the Philippines during the World War II, Philippines
might fall it's existence to Japan or be greatly influence by them, since during at that time Japanese
shows their cruelty and merciless acts with the Filipino prisoners. At worst, since Filipinos at that time
almost cannot defend themselves from Japanese army then it might result to death of almost all the
Filipini citizens.
