WEATHER ADVISORY # 1 AND PREPAREDNESS MEASURE FOR


WEATHER DISTURBANCE TROPICAL STORM “PAENG”

October 28, 2022

Please be advised that the PAGASA announced a forecast issued at 11:00 am, today 28
October 2022 that “PAENG” ACCELERATES WEST NORTHWESTWARD WHILE
MAINTAINING ITS STRENGTH. The center of Tropical Storm “PAENG” was estimated based on
all available data at 220 km East Northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar or 305 km East of
Catarman, Northern Samar (12.1 °N, 127.4 °E ). Moving West Northwestward at 25 km/h. Maximum
sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h.
Tropical Storm PAENG is forecast to continue moving west northwestward through Sunday.
On the forecast track, this tropical cyclone may make landfall over Catanduanes by tomorrow early
morning. Afterwards, it will traverse the northern portion of Camarines Sur, then the eastern portion
of Camarines Norte. By Sunday morning, the center of PAENG may make another landfall over the
east coast of Quezon (including Polillo Islands) or Aurora.
PAENG is forecast to further intensify while moving over the warm waters of the Philippine
Sea and may reach severe tropical storm category within 24 hours. Due to a landfall scenario over
Bicol Region, it is less likely to reach typhoon category and there is an increasing likelihood that
PAENG may remain a severe tropical storm.
METRO MANILA are now under TROPICAL SIGNAL NO. 1 winds of 30-60 km/h may be
expected in at least 36 hours or intermittent rains may be expected within 36 hours

MCDRRMC/MCDRRMO and BDRRMC/BDRRMO shall constantly convey information and monitor


the entire spectrum of possible dangers that might threaten life and property.

The City of Malabon is now raise to PREPAREDNESS STATUS under RED ALERT code CHARLIE
via DILG CODIX. All member of the MDRRMC, BDRRMC and all concerned are advised to take
precautionary measures for possible heavy to intense rain, flashflood, and severe wind.

The Malabon Command and Control Center will serve the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) and
will be operating twenty-four hours (24) hours. BDRRMC are advised to activate their respective
Operation Center. All residents and communities on flood risk zones and low-lying areas must
advised to prepare for possible evacuation. Report any untoward incident to Malabon Command
