Instructions for Block Paper

Model Adventure Pack

Follow these simple instructions to make your block character scene!

You will need:

a pair of scissors some glue a ruler

Instructions:

1. First, cut out the three templates.

The block pig template is the trickiest to cut. Take your time to make sure you
have cut out all the solid black lines that go around the outside of the template.
Do not cut any solid black lines that make up the design of the block pig.

2. Now, fold all of the dotted and dashed lines to help you make the shapes
before gluing.

All of the dotted lines fold down (a hill fold). All of the ‘dotted and dashed’ lines
fold up (a valley fold). If you can’t fold the paper easily, check to see if there is
a solid black cutting line that you missed.

How to make the Block Adventurer Paper Model:

3. First, make the block adventurer’s body. You need to glue tabs 1 and 2 to the
sides next to them to make a square-shaped, hollow base. Your block adventurer
should now stand up.

4. Now, glue tab 3 to the back part of the block adventurer’s head.

5. WARNING: This bit is fiddly!

Add glue to tab 4, fold down the top of the head and push tab 4 inside. Take a
pencil or pen and put it into the hollow body section to hold tab 4 in the correct
place until the glue has dried.

6. Then, add glue to shapes 5 and 6 and fold down the left and right sides
of the head.

7. Finally, add glue to the reverse sides of the arms and, for each arm, stick the
two sides together.

8. Your block adventurer paper model is complete! Now he needs a work bench!

How to make the Workbench Paper Model

9. Glue tab 1 to the other side to make the square-shaped, hollow base of the
workbench.

10. To finish the top part of the work bench, add glue to tab 2 and tuck it inside.

11. Turn the workbench over and glue tabs 3 and 4 in turn to the inside of the
workbench and hold the tabs until the glue has dried.

How to make the Block Pig Paper Model

12. With the template folded, it should be easy to see the shape of the finished
block pig. This is the version without the armour but another template is available
with armour on!

13. First, make the back of the pig. Glue tab 1 to the left side of the body.

14. Now, fold the top of the pig’s head down and glue tab 2 to the other side of it.

15. Glue tab 3 inside the side of the head, under shape 6.

16. At the back of the pig’s body, glue tab 4 to the tail section.

17. Then, glue tab 5 inside the back leg section.

18. At the side of the pig’s head, fold down the head and ear section and glue it
to shape 6. The ear should fold outwards.

19. Repeat Step 18 with the other side of the head and shape 7.

20. Above the pig’s front legs, join the two narrow shapes together with glue
on shape 8.

21. Then, join the pig’s middle sections together with glue on shape 9.

22. Finally, glue and hold the sides of each leg together.
