REFLECTION

The Philippine in the 19th Century as Rizal Context base on Rizal and also
base on my own understanding Rizal’s portraying of what are the lives of the Filipino
people before and how the Spaniards colonized the Philippines. Rizal was able to let
us know of how violent the Spaniards in our country and their idea of being greed.
They only came here for the wealth and treasure of the Philippines aside from that
they we’re able to do illegal things like operating on the casino with illegal doings,
without permits or authority.

We all that life of Filipino people was not that easy before because of what
Spaniards done to the Filipino people, they we’re not able to give the right of Filipino
people that they deserve. Also the Filipino people was not able to went to school
because the Spaniards think that if everyone learned that means that Filipino people
have the right to fight for their good and for their right, they also think that if that the
case Filipino people have the power to fight against them, because they know what
are the rules and what are the human rights, which is that was prevented by the
Spaniards. Only the son or the daughter of the middle class and royal families has
the right to go to school to improve their learnings, while the lower or belong to the
poor class the only thing that they need to do was to serve and to work for the
Spaniards and for their everyday survival. Rizal also stated that the young or the
male ages 15-60 years old must worked, so in other words they are obligated to do
that or else they will die. Rizal was able to write of how violent the Spaniards are, like
they will kill you without reliable reasons or any wrong that you’ve done. If they like to
kill someone for no reason they would because they have the power. And also
accordingly ladies were raped any part of the place. I also know how corrupt the
Generals before or the colonials officials just like General Fernando Primo De River
who enriched himself by accepting bribes from gambling casinos in Manila which
he's scandalously permitted to operate. Also the friars who were being served by the
Filipino people, and the Guardia civil which is very famous. They we’re patterned as
famous and well-disciplined Guardia Civil in Spain, but later became infamous for
their rampant abuses, such as maltreating innocent people, looting carabaos,
chickens, and valuable belongings, and raping helpless women.

The things that we need to appreciate Rizal’s work is that we have to thank
him because of him we able to know what are the happenings of the past. We able
to compare it today that we are so lucky nowadays because we have the privilege to
go to school, have the right to complain all of our query or any other thing that needs
actions. We have all the right that we deserve.
