EPIC Card Game Solo Variant


Version 1.1

PI: Poxy Intelligence (like Artificial Intelligence but not quite since you need to act on its behalf)
Player : Human player (i.e. YOU)

SETUP:

1. Create a 30 card deck for the PI and a 30 card deck for the Player.
2. Player gets 30 health. PI gets 30 health.
3. Draw top 3 cards of the PI deck. Play any 0-cost cards as normal and ONE 1-cost card.
Banish all unused cards. The played cards are now considered "in play". The PI does not
have a hand. The top cards of the PI deck represent the PI's hand.
4. You start. Draw 5 cards and play as in a normal turn of EPIC but do not draw a card on your
first turn.

ON YOUR TURN:

1. Play as in a normal turn of EPIC. You draw 1 card and get one gold.
2. If you attack PI, all Prepared champions block before any damage goes to PI. Determine
blockers as you would if you were PI (i.e. use blockers in the most effective way to benefit
the AI) and use normal EPIC blocking rules.
3. PI Ambush: Before you attack, PI draws top card of PI deck and plays it no matter its cost.
This card enters play as per normal rules. If the card was a 0-cost card, activate PI Ambush
again. Both cards enter play as per normal rules. If the second card is a 0-cost card no
more PI Ambush is activated.

ON AI'S TURN:

1. You get a gold and can play ambush cards as per normal rules.
2. Draw 3 cards from PI deck. Play all 0-cost cards and one 1-cost card as per normal rules
except for the exceptions listed in step 4. All unused cards are banished.
3. Choosing which card(s) to play: You must choose to play the 1-cost card which most
benefits the PI for the current game condition and/or most harms the Player.
4. PI card abilities :
PI Loyalty 2 If playing with a PI-all-same alignment deck, all champions
automatically gain Loyalty 2 abilities of the deck alignment type (ex: for an Evil deck,
all cards get Loyalty 2 automatically). If playing with a random or draft deck, Loyalty
2 is activated by drawing/checking the top card of the PI deck. If this card (yes, only
1 card) is of same alignment as the Loyalty 2 card played, activate Loyalty 2. Shuffle
the drawn/checked card back into the top 3 cards of the PI deck.
Draw Card If a card has "Draw card" abilities, draw the number of cards required
and play all 0-cost cards. All 1-cost cards are placed back on top of PI deck
(representing the PI's hand). If PI draws a card that it cannot play, it gains +1 health
and shuffles the drawn card(s) back in to the X+3 cards of the PI deck (where X = #
of cards drawn).
ex: PI plays a Draw 2 cards event. It draws two cards and gets two 1-cost
cards. AI is unable to play both cards so it gets +2 health. Shuffle the 2 drawn
cards back into the top 4 cards of the PI deck.
Returned If AI has to return a card to its hand, put the card back on top of the AI
deck.
Recall When a card with the Recall ability is broken, do not place it in the discard
pile. Instead, shuffle it into the top 3 cards of the AI deck.
Recycle If a discarded card has the Recycle ability, activate this ability no matter the
cost and then discard it. Gain health, draw a card and play it as per normal PI rules.
5. PI allways attacks the Player with all of its Prepared champions. Activate attackers as per
step #3 above. Player can declare blockers as per normal rules.
6. AI is allowed to surpass starting health value of 30.
