COVER LETTER

Eva Brenda Rodríguez Paredes

Dear Sir or Madam,

Since I am applying for this position, I thought I would get in touch and tell you a bit about
myself and my ethos in life. My values are greatly informed by my own experience of
working as a tutor/teaching assistant/volunteer.

I started working with children in 2014 at Museo Amparo, a museum in my hometown of

Puebla, Mexico. I taught art workshops, and explained exhibitions to the children. This was
my first experience working with children of nursery age. I became very interested in the
creative aspects of teaching children of this age, and felt very strongly that this work was
beneficial for communities. I decided to steer my career towards education and found myself
teaching English and working as a private tutor for children (from ages 3 to 12) and adults. I
developed my own style of educating, involving interactive lessons and goal oriented
curricular activities. I learned at this stage about how to respond to individual educational
needs. Each child is different and may require a different approach. In my early experience, I
learned how to give children a sense of security, belonging, and working towards effective
learning in the early stages of their development. I would draw on this knowledge and these
values in working at your nursery.

Later, I volunteered at Johannes-Schule Evinghausen in Bramsche, Germany. The focus of

the school was children with additional needs, working with these children in artistic settings
in order to develop their skills, and support them to become independent. In this job I learned
how to work with children with additional needs, in a different language/cultural setting. I
found the Waldorf pedagogy a brilliant alternative way to decipher learning paths and
integrate neurodivergent individuals to society in an organic way.

Currently, I work as a Trainee Nursery Practitioner at Bonnington House Nursery. It is my

responsibility to be a friendly leader for children and to keep good and sincere
communication with my peers.. I need to be a role model for the children, but I also want to
be a role model for my team while learning from my peers.
I also have a special interest in working with autistic children as well as with children with
disabilities. I want to specialise in art therapy and special education. Additionally, I am first
aid trained. That's why I am also taking online seminars sponsored by the nursery. Both of
them are about working with children with autism and or learning differences.

My ethos is that children’s early years are the most important years of their lives. This can be
provided for in a positive, appreciative, tolerant, and friendly environment, led by a sensible
and proactive person engaged with the individual needs of the learner.

I think that my ethos would fit very well with your institution, and would be excited to have
the chance to discuss my application further with you.

Kind regards

Eva Paredes
