Growth and Meat Quality of Broiler Chicken (Gallus GallusDomesticus) In Response

to the Various Color of the Light and the Different Levelsof

Madre Agua as Feed Supplement.

Chapter 1

INTRODUCTION

Poultry farming is a significant source of revenue generation for small farmers on developing

countries. It plays a vital role in fulfilling the daily protein requirements of human through

meat and egg consumption (Attia et. al, 2022). During the rise of the pandemic, production of

raw materials and services were hampered due to strict restrictions of health protocols. This

crisis affected different departments including poultry farming, specifically meat and egg

production.

Broiler chicken is known to be the most intensive branch of animal since they will be use for

meat production. It is characterized by very fast reproduction, short breeding periods, and

relatively low investment, which compared to other branches of livestock production which

allow faster turnover and, thus, efficient and economical production (Puvaca, 2018). On the

other hand, chicken meat is characterized by favorable nutritional composition; easy

digestibility and high energy value (Lorenzo et al, 2014). In the economic aspect, it is

available to all segments of society as it is accepted by all cultures and religion (Corsello et.

al, 2016)

Therefore, the modern production of broiler chicken is considered as important part of the

chain of food production for the global population, which is increasing everyday and aims to

meet high legal regulations for quality and safe products for human consumption.

The quality and safety of feed for broiler chickens are not only key factors in meeting

production properties but also to increase production and improve the quality of food in

animal origin, such as meat. To maximize the genetic potential of a chicken, it is important to
satisfy their physiological needs, and strive for nutritional mixtures to be nutritionally

balanced.

However, dietary supplements nowadays are being used to supply the needed nutritional

benefits

General Objectives

To assess the response of broiler chicken to the Various color of lights and levels of
Madre Agua as a feed supplement in their growth and meat quality

Specific Objectives:

 To measure the growth of the broiler chicken in response to the various colors of
lights

supplement to the growth of broiler chicken?
3. What is the significant difference between the various color of lights to the meat
quality of broiler chicken?

4. What is the significant difference between the levels of Madre de Agua as a feed
supplement to the meat quality of boiler chicken?

Null Hypothesis
