It is the fact rise of convenience foods has helped people keep up with the speed of the modern life

style. While this trend would introduce certain benefits, several drawbacks and obstacles may take place
as a consequence. I believe that the drawbacks of consuming convenience foods outweigh the positive
sides this trend has.

On one hand, there are certain benefits of convenience foods. Firstly, it saves time. For instance, people
are able to get convenience food easily in any stores. In addition, people to not have to cook for an hour
to have foods. Maggie for example is cooked within 5 minutes and people do not have to wait long to fill
their stomach. Secondly, buying convenience food is cost effective. For example, to cook a proper meal
at home, it adds up other cost as gas, ingredients and utensils to serve, whereas buying a convenience is
cheaper. It does not add up other expenses. Hence, these are some of advantages of convenience foods.

On the other hand, I believe that the drawbacks outweigh the positive sides. One the serious problem is
that it effects people’s health. People who are unable to digest those foods tend to suffer more or even
may be hospitalized. Consequently, this would affect their performance at work. It is also seen that
person who have proper home are more active and energetic at work then those who consume
convenience. As a result of poor performance, those people may lose their jobs in future. This not only
effect that person, but also his family, who depend on him. Hence, for these reasons I believe that
drawbacks of this trend outweigh the positive sides.

In conclusion, it is true that convenience food saves time and is easily available. However, we cannot
neglect the serious problem it has, such as effecting people’s health. So, this shows that the drawbacks
outweigh the positive sides this trend has.
